This problem has little to do with engineering, its Urban Planning. Planning was a dedicated 4 year program in my uni, I had a friend studying it at the time. It covers community design, planning law, zoning, where houses should/shouldnโt be built, adjusting roads to climate change etc.
Thereโs many niche programs thatโll be very beneficial to Nigerians, but everyone wants to do Medicine/Law/Engineering.
Chronic use of painkillers (NSAIDs) causes ulcer.
When the pain is a lot, some people tend to overdose, causing an even higher risk of ulcer.
Personally, I thug out the pain because I donโt want to have to deal with ulcers or complications.
I usually see the way so many women talk about feeling a lot of pain throughout their period time. Why don't you just take painkiller for a relief? Does it have side effect?
Lagos is flooding again.
We have UNILAG, LASU, Pan-Atlantic University, thousands of engineering students, and hundreds of PhDs.
Where are the practical engineering solutions?
What exactly is the purpose of an engineering degree if our biggest engineering problems remain unsolved?
Are our universities producing problem-solvers or just issuing certificates?
There is a tweet out there where someone said "There is a type of lifestyle you'll see international students living in the University and you just know their parents are the problem of their country"
I think if authors are too poor to survive piracy and readers are too poor not to pirate then we need to have a really serious conversation about where all that money is and why it isn't circulating properly.
I honestly hate that we've normalized the idea that all opinions are valid. I think we should get back to telling people that they are ill informed & ignorant
See that doctors that died because he was denied sick leave?
That's why younger doctors are not and will not be doing more than themselves.
Everybody will choose themselves now.
One can draw a straight line from this tweet to your master.
If you think Ronaldo has no business playing a 90-minutes game at 41, your 90+ year old president has no business ruling a country for 4 years, let alone an extra 4 heโs trying to snag by hook or crook.
Even Ronaldo is a self!sh legend.
At 41, you shouldn't be playing 90mins when your team needs to win.
At 70+ minutes, there are tired legs & a fresh player upfront could've help but no, remained & wasted the slot.

Grand Corruption: Nigeriaโs Greatest Threat.
The recent report from the IMF consultation further raises concerns about the scale of grand corruption under the Tinubu government. The IMF now reveals that about N8.83 trillion in expenditure undertaken in 2025 is not reflected in the budget. This expenditure is not budgeted and is therefore not under legislative oversight or administrative scrutiny. This is horrible.
N8.83 trillion is as follows:
1.About 2% of our GDP.
2.Over 35% of Nigeriaโs 2025 N23.96 trillion capital project budget. In fact, the amount is more than the actual released capital funding for 2025.
https://t.co/Hta3LViCB8 is more than the entire combined budget for education (N3.52 trillion) and health (N2.38 trillion).
If such an amount is properly used and accounted for, it could transform Nigeriaโs public health and education sectors. It could create hundreds of cottage industries that can provide jobs for thousands of graduates and build a solid foundation for economic development. But we cannot account for it. This is not an isolated incident.
This is a pattern of grand corruption that has become part of this administration.
We have a lot to worry about regarding the state of corruption under President Tinubu. The sort of corruption that is ingrained in total disregard of elementary rules of public finance management poses a grave danger to national security and the stability of the Nigerian state. The capture of the Nigerian state and the plunder of its resources are actions that undermine the basis of state stability and deepen poverty and state failure.
This recent revelation proves that the APC government is grossly corrupt, incompetent, and insensitive. With the growing poverty and the urgent need for significant upgrades to social and physical infrastructure, a responsible and responsive government would ensure that N8.83 trillion is prudently utilised to address these gaps. But not the Tinubu administration.
A few days ago, I called on President Tinubu to resign from office for incompetence, lack of capacity, lack of compassion, and failure to improve on his campaign promises. Some people thought perhaps the call was excessive. But with the daily revelations of pervasive corruption in this administration and its total lack of commitment to the welfare and security of Nigerian citizens, the only reasonable action is for President Tinubu to resign from office. The collapse of elementary forms of due process under Tinubu and the increased evidence of rampant looting of Nigerian public finances reinforce the need for greater accountability. It is now time for Nigerian citizens to rise within the law and hold this administration to account.

The South East is making a choice.
We will double down on eliminating illiteracy.
Every child who cannot read, write and reason represents lost potential for our economy, our security and our future.
We are studying the education systems that consistently produce some of the worldโs strongest learning outcomes, including Singapore and China.
We are no longer educating children just to survive.
We are educating them to compete globally and lead.
That is the future we are building.
Look at America, Europe and Canada today.
Indians are leading top companies, building global technology, running hospitals, teaching in world-class universities and occupying important positions across the world.
Look at China.
They moved hundreds of millions from poverty to global power by taking education, science, engineering, manufacturing and national planning seriously.
None of this happened by accident.
Nations that invest in human capital eventually export influence.
That is the path we must take.
We are not grooming children just to survive Nigeria.
We are grooming a generation that will compete with the best minds on earth.
Our education must move from survival to global domination.
One day gents you must understand that women are reciprocators, not initiators. They step AFTER yโall step. You lead, they FOLLOW. Idk how else to explain this but itโs really SO simple.

Some of us are yet to understand, removing Tinubu from that seat is not business as usual. It is paramount for this generation and the next's survival.
Except heโs doing other menial tasks with menial pay, everything you mentioned here sums up 92,500 monthly.
Youโre both terrible in math and terrible in equating cost of standard of living vs quality of life.
No one should work 5 different menial jobs just be comfortable.
The gateman in our section of the estate earns a N70k monthly salary.
We have 16 flats and about 15 cars in the compound. He washes our cars every day for N1k each because itโs cheaper than taking them to a car wash.
He also does laundry for 5 people every weekend at N1,500 each..thatโs another N30k monthly.
Then I sat down to calculate everythingโฆ Omo, this guy is making close to N550k every month. ๐
As if thatโs not enough, he has a small farm at the back where he grows yam and pepper. He sells to us in the compound, and even has 2 Okada that comes to deliver from him daily.
Omo, I just realized say na this guy fat pass all of us wey dey compound. ๐. If he no buy pepper soup for me this weekend make I bend.
