Witnessed an emotional family moment at SFO this morning as a mom and dad said goodbye to their son heading off to college. Half dozen duffel bags. Smiles. Tears. Kid decked out in Villanova gear and his parents with matching hats.

As I passed them by, I said “Hey kid, Nova sucks. Let’s go Hoyas”.

The dad laughed, turned to his son, and said “welcome to college”. 🤣

My dad first came to this great country from Jodhpur, India in 1968.

He borrowed $1k from his uncle for the trip and got a full scholarship for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University.

He got an arranged marriage with my mom in 1972 and they both came to live together in Wisconsin, strange people in a strange land.

They moved to Iowa to work for John Deere where my sister and I were born and started their own business. I was lucky to watch their business grow first hand and that inspired me to become a 5x founder myself.

Today I'm lucky to work with the best founders every day, and I can report that this American Dream that's rooted in my family's story-- and millions of other families here-- is as is as strong as ever.
