Dear MTN NIGERIA,
I write to formally express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration with the consistently poor quality of network service I have experienced on my MTN line [08133901035] over the past few daysf.
As a loyal MTN customer for years, I have always relied on MTN as the "largest and most reliable network in Nigeria." Unfortunately, that promise has not matched reality. In recent times, the service on my line has become unbearable and it is now actively affecting my work, finances, and personal life.
Specific Issues I Have Faced:
1. Frequent Call Drops & Failed Calls*: I am unable to make or receive calls without interruptions. Important business calls and family calls are cut off mid-conversation.
2. Extremely Slow/No Internet: Despite subscribing to data bundles, my internet speed is either unusably slow or completely unavailable. I have missed deadlines, online meetings, and submission of important documents beqcause of this.
3. Failed Transactions: I have experienced failed USSD, MoMo, and banking transactions due to poor network, and in some cases I was debited without reversal for days.
4. Lost Opportunities: As a business owner and freelancer, my livelihood depends on staying connected. The poor network has caused me to lose clients, miss job opportunities, and suffer financial losses.
This situation is not just inconvenient. It is a breach of the service agreement between us as a consumer and MTN as a service provider, as protected under the Nigerian Communications Commission Consumer Code of Practice Regulations 2007.
My Demand
I have exercised patience and reported these issues via 180 and on social media, but the problem persists. Therefore, I am demanding the following within 7 working days of receipt of this letter:
1. Immediate and permanent resolution of the network issues in Mpape Abuja, FCT
2. Adequate compensation for the financial losses, wasted data/airtime, and damages caused by your service failure. This should be in the form of data bonus, airtime credit, bill waiver and a sum of ₦20,000,000
3. A formal written apology and explanation for the poor service
Please note that if I do not receive a satisfactory response and resolution within 7 working days, I will have no other option but to escalate this matter. I will file a formal complaint with the Nigerian Communications Commission - NCC and I will explore legal action to recover damages for breach of contract and negligence.
I would prefer we resolve this amicably. MTN has built a great brand, and I believe you will do the right thing to protect your customers and your reputation.
I look forward to your urgent response.
Yours faithfully,
Olayemi Samuel
