How To Lead As A Husband
How to Lead As A Husband
A home without a leader is a home in constant tension.
Not because conflict is happening, but because nobody knows who is responsible for the direction, nobody knows who carries the weight when things go wrong, and nobody knows where the family is going or who is steering it there.
Women do not want to lead the home. They want to be led.
When a man does not lead, the woman is forced to fill that vacuum. She does not enjoy it; she resents it, and she resents him for making her carry what was never hers to carry.
Most men confuse this with a woman who wants control. She does not. She wants certainty, and she wants to know the man she is with can be trusted to carry the direction of the family.
That is not the same thing.
Leadership Is Not Control
A man who confuses leadership with control will destroy the relationship while believing he is leading it.
Control looks like demanding to know everything, restricting her freedom, making decisions that serve his ego instead of the family, and using fear instead of respect to maintain his position.
Leadership looks nothing like that.
Leadership is direction. It is knowing where the family is going and communicating it clearly, making decisions, even difficult ones, with the family’s best interest at the centre, and being the stability in the room when everything around is unstable.
Remaining calm when she is emotional, and remaining certain when she is doubtful.
A woman under strong, loving leadership blossoms.
She becomes softer, more trusting, and more invested, because she knows the ship has a captain and the captain knows where they are going.
A woman who has to lead a man she was supposed to follow becomes hard, bitter, and disrespectful. Not because she changed, but because the environment changed her.
What Leading Actually Looks Like Daily
It is not dramatic. It is quiet and consistent.
Making a decision and standing by it instead of asking her what she thinks at every turn.
Handling a problem before she has to bring it to you twice.
Maintaining your composure when she is testing yours.
Having a plan for the family and executing it without needing her constant reassurance that you are doing the right thing.
Holding your standard inside the relationship even when lowering it would be easier.
Being the same man in private that you present yourself to be in public.
That is leadership. Every single day. In the ordinary moments, not just the big ones.
Why She Tests Your Leadership
Every woman tests the man she is with. This is not malicious; it is instinct.
She needs to know if your frame holds under pressure, and she needs to know if you can be broken, because a man who can be broken by a woman cannot protect her, cannot lead her, and cannot be trusted with her future.
When she is difficult, and you remain calm, she is not making your life hard. She is checking the foundation.
When she pushes back on your decision, and you hold your ground calmly without aggression, she is not being disrespectful. She is verifying that the man she is following knows where he is going.
Every time you pass the test, the respect deepens. Every time you fail it, the respect retreats, and enough retreated respect becomes a woman who has quietly stopped following a man she has decided she cannot trust to lead.
Be The Man She Needs You To Be
She does not need perfection.
She needs consistency, she needs direction, and she needs to know that when the storms come, the man beside her will not fold.
Be that man. Not for her sake alone, but for yours.
A man who leads well does not just build a better relationship; he builds a better version of himself.
The discipline required to lead consistently is the same discipline that builds everything else worth having in a man’s life.
Lead your home. It is not optional; it is your assignment.

I was working in a church office as a PA to a Pastor a few years ago
While I was still there, things began to change for me so drastically that even I couldn't believe it
After a while, I had to leave because I had grown seriously bigger than the position I was holding
I also left because the Lord said it was time for me to leave.
After leaving, I realised my heart remained with all my fellow staff members at the church office
I know their stories, their children, their wives and husbands, their plight, and their struggles
It felt a bit unfair that we were once in the same boat, and somehow God singled me out to do so much better than they were doing
Whenever I had some downtime, I would go to the office, buy lunch for everybody, and spend some time catching up with the staff members I left behind
As time went on, I asked for the account numbers of all the staff members, and I began to give all of them a monthly stipend and also something extra during the Easter and Christmas period
Nobody asked me to do it
It just felt right, and I had too much money at the time without any concrete plans as to what to do with the inflow.
I was never greedy for gains, and I like to live a simple and godly life.
It is the only way I could enjoy my life.
After a year of doing this, international doors opened for me, and I began to tour the world twice a year.
Whenever I travelled, I would remember all the staff members of my former office and buy them gifts.
Some with needs like rent, some money to help them purchase a car, support towards a wedding, naming of their babies, baby delivery, health, and other emergencies received such freely from me at the time.
As I said, I felt it was the least I could do to support them because my life changed so much, and it continued to get better and better daily.
On my return from one of my international tours in 2023, I had a ministeration somewhere in Lagos.
I dressed up for the ministration and told my driver to take me to my former office so that I could drop the gifts and souvenirs I bought for my ex-colleagues and also spend some time with them.
When I got there, something remarkable happened. One of the staff members, the one I considered to be most mature and whom I took as a big brother, asked me to give him my belt.
He wore one, but it was torn and tattered.
I told him I was going for a ministration and would be in meetings after that throughout the day.
He said he does not care. I should take off the belt and hand it over to him immediately, or he would command the security guards to block the door and delay me from leaving for my meeting.
I laughed and told him I would send him the money to buy another belt or give him the cash right there, but that I couldn't give him the belt I was wearing that morning.
He smiled and told the security guards to block the door.
He said he may not have the power to take the belt from me, but he has the power to keep me in their office for as long as possible.
I am a minister of the gospel, and there is a way I must carry myself in public
I was determined not to lose my cool or get angry, especially over this brother's behaviour, which was masked by joviality and fake laughter.
I realised at that moment that he was telling me that I reminded them too much of where they were as my former colleagues whenever I came to visit, and he no longer appreciated my visits.
So I took off the belt and gave it to him.
He collected my belt, too.
Once that was done, he picked up the intercom and told the security guys to allow me to exit the building whenever I wanted.
I smiled and took my leave
As I was descending the steps, another staff member, a female with whom I was a PA for five years, walked up to me and said, "He did that deliberately because during an argument with another staff member in the office one day, he boasted that 'Gbenga is my boy. As big as he is now, if he comes into this office, I will collect the belt he is wearing, and he must give it to me because I am his spiritual senior."
She asked me not to be angry.
I thanked her and took my leave.
My driver took me to ICM, and I got another belt at the Tommy Store Outlet.
When I got home that day, I told my accountant not to give anyone from that office a penny again.
I stopped picking up the calls of any of the staff members, and I stopped going there for any form of visitation.
Weeks went by, and they realised the payments had stopped, and I was no longer picking up calls.
Messages trooped in from every one of them, praying for me and encouraging me not to stop the support I was giving them.
I ignored them all.
There is a statement in the Bible that stuck with me. It was that statement that I heard as I woke up earlier this morning. It is in 1 Kings 20:11.
"A man who puts on (his armour to go to battle) should not boast like the man who takes it off (after the battle has been won" Amplified Version.
David boasted before fighting Goliath. Goliath boasted before fighting David. Only one of them lived when they fought. The one who lived was the one who took off the sword of the one who died.
We should learn not to boast except in the power and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
PS: Know when you are wanted somewhere and know when you are not wanted.
If you are given access to certain people which is of benefit to you, try not to abuse the access
There is great dignity in keeping a respectable distance from people. Familiarity breeds contempt.

Tame The Wildlings
If you know your parents are very troublesome by nature, you will not be making much progress in life if you work hard in life to be gentle and accommodating
Troublesome parents always end up smoldering the lives and destinies of their gentle children
They won’t suddenly stop being true to their nature when you get married or have children
They won’t suddenly stop being true to their nature when you start working and having friends
They won’t suddenly stop being true to their nature when dealing with your potential in-laws and potential spouses
When you don’t match their fire with fire as a single person, you end up giving them the permission to set your life on fire when you surround yourself with reasonable people
It is the very first law of preserving our relationships
“dear friends, my mummy can sometimes be like this or like that, when she begins her drama just walk away”
Or you can just give her so much trouble in return that she will learn not to come near you or anything that has your name on it
You will hear “Ha, I don’t put my mouth in GSW’s matter o, chai, I don’t want him to swallow me whole”
Children who don’t do this usually end up exposing everyone who comes into their lives to the fiery nature of such parents
My grandmother is a very strong woman and she is very troublesome too
One day she came to Lagos for a family function and when all her grandchildren went to greet her with their spouses, she kept them on their knees and insisted that each grandchild and their spouses must give her twenty thousand Naira each as greeting money.
All my siblings and cousins were arrested by her move
Most of us just graduated from the university and we were still struggling to make ends meet
We knew not to go greet her empty handed, but that 20K toll was too hefty at the time
I got there and met everybody on their knees begging her
She refused their plea
I walked up to her and dropped 1000 Naira at her feet, I then walked away.
She saw me, greeted me and that was it
The others were there until their friends and parents and other family members raised the money to bail them out.
Later, one of my uncles said “What gave you the audacity not to fall on your knees and start begging like the others.”
I said “Experience”
I am not a bully but if you try to bully me, I will rather die than give in.
My grandmother learnt that the hard way when we were young
She realized I won’t dance to her music and she forever gave me my space until tomorrow.
What she can try with the others, she cannot try with me
However, my obedient cousins still suffer from her hands till today
She insulted the wife of one of them recently, the young lady cried all night.
When my cousin told me, I smiled.
Of course she will never try such with me
I have shielded my family from her antics with my reputation.
When couples tell me stories of how their heavy handed parents ruined their friendships or relationships or marriages by barging into their lives and causing trouble needlessly, I say to them, you were the ones that gave her or them that room.
You knew your parents were ferocious by nature, instead of you to tame them, you allowed them roam freely all over your life
When you allow this, you also open the door to them attacking the other people you attract into your life
Some parents are loving
Some are choking and possessive
Some a Lordy and controlling
Some are street fighters
You are not responsible for which family you came out of but you are responsible for taming them or caging them or distancing yourself from their influence so that they don’t ruin the good things going on in your life
I have seen a lot of people who through sentiments allowed their overbearing parents ruin their marriages
Sometimes this overbearing attitude led to them making decisions that ruined the confidence of their partners in them forever
You may not be able to change your parents but you must manage them so that they know their boundaries

A Strange Encounter
I was checking into a hotel somewhere in Lagos in January 2023 at about 2 pm.
I use this hotel a lot whenever I am in Nigeria, and all the staff know me by name
As they were processing my bags through their scanning machine, I stood with one of their concierges, and we had some small talk
He asked how I was and also asked how my wife and children, who often stayed with me at the hotel, were
I replied to him that they were all fine
Suddenly, a man was standing by my right side, it was as if he appeared from nowhere, he touched my elbow and said, "Good afternoon, Brother Gbenga."
I looked at him and was a bit startled, but I recovered quickly.
I greeted the man.
He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt, a combat trousers, and a pair of trainers
He asked if he could see me for a minute
I was tempted to ask him to wait until i had checked in properly before giving him audience but I didn't want to offend him, so I excused myself from the concierge and walked with him to the seats at the reception.
As soon as I sat down, the man said, I was asked to come to this hotel and wait for you by the Lord Jesus Christ.
He gave me a message for you
He said you are about to get into one of the stormiest seasons of your life, but you should not fret because every experience he has taken you through before now was deliberately curated to build you up so that you can go through this storm without many scars.
I saw you swimming, you were making steady progress, and once every other minute, you would lift up your head to take in some air before diving right back into the pool. This was how the Lord says the issues shall be spaced.
He said you should "Be strong and trust Him much more than you have ever done before in your life."
I said, "Thank you, sir."
He said, "Starting from the month of March this year, you will begin to experience some drastic changes.
They could have all happened at once, but when I was praying, I intervened and asked the Lord to space them out because it felt to me like too much, too soon.
He said, "The foundations of trust around you will be shaken, and some will crack. Some will find their way back, and some will never look back once they part ways with you. Take this as part of the grand design for the new beginnings ahead of you."
He said, "The Lord said to tell you that you will outgrow your clothes quickly, and you will have to sew another one that is much bigger to accommodate your excess weight.
Do not fret when it is time to do this; rather, rejoice, for the Lord has predetermined in his heart to enlarge your coast and make you great. Where you are now, your eyes cannot see much because it is in another man's vision.
For you, it is as far as your eyes can see, so the Lord will take you to the place where you can have unobscured lines of sight and possess without any hindrance."
I nodded
Then he said, "You will court scandal, but I will shield you from them all, says the Lord, I will protect your inheritance and subvert the intentions of those who might want to act venomously against you. I saw many snakes spewing their venom at you, but it was as if you were wearing a hamza suit; the venom could not touch you. The Lord really loves you."
At this point, I felt a deep stirring within me.
The man was speaking to me with his eyes closed, as if he were reliving the visions he saw and the words he heard from the Lord.
I started feeling the warmth of the Holy Spirit bubbling from within my spirit, and at the same time, I felt this warm embrace all over my shoulder and my head as if I was being hugged from behind and from the front simultaneously.
I naturally do not accept prophecy from anyone outside of my fellowship as a rule, because the Bible said there are so many strange spirits that have gone forth into the world.
This was not just some random prophet, i was very much convinced he was an angel of the Lord at this point.
The man then said, "You have been praying for one of your brothers who is battling for his accommodation abroad. His wife reached out to you for prayers and support. Tell her that I have taken care of it and brought back the days of dancing and rejoicing.
He gave some other prophecies pertaining to those very close to me and shared with me intimate details that no one else could have known.
I listened with my spirit
Then he said, "By the Year of Jubilee of your ministry, the Lord said the storm would have been completely taken care of, and you would have come out of it unscathed.
The secret is to go through this trying season with thanksgiving and a heart full of joy, so that the days will not be prolonged. The more joyful you are, the weaker the strength of the storm shall be."
The Lord said you must trust in Him with all your heart.
He said you must be deliberate with your trust and you must be deliberate in the decisions you make, especially regarding leaning on the Lord for guidance and leaning on people or your own understanding.
The Lord said you believe you are very smart, but you should put your smartness aside and follow him like a sheep through this season.
The Lord says to assure you of His love!
Then the man stood up and made to leave
I followed him and asked him for his name and phone number
He smiled and said, "If the Lord wanted you to have it, He would reveal it to you the same way he revealed yours to me."
And he left.
I checked into my room with a heart full of information and revelation.
One thing I was sure of at the time was that this man was an angel.
The things he said to me began to happen in the month of March 2023
Like he said, it was as if it were deliberately timed and spaced out so that I was able to cope and adjust with every development as they came.
I give glory to God for every victory won on every side
He has the victory.
The prophecy about me gaining excess weight has also come to pass, but it was not physical weight.
I outgrew my current accommodation, and I had to move
I am moving with songs of praise and gratitude in my mouth
Rehoboth was my first house, and it held a lot of sentimental value and feelings deep in my heart.
It was a miracle house that God built for me right in the middle of Covid, and since I moved there, I have prospered beyond my wildest dreams as a minister of the gospel.
I got a message from the authorities who owned the land I built the house on to vacate the building before seventy-two hours at 3 pm on Friday.
They gave me the land to build on when I was a pastor in the denomination, and I had since then left the denomination in the pursuit of my destiny in Christ.
I am grateful to the denomination and the Lord for keeping me in this location through the most beautiful season of my life so far.
The storm came, and it was ferocious, but I landed in a wealthy place.
God is faithful unto me on every side.
I bless His Holy name.
Now, the man who gave me that message turned out not to be an angel after all.
He was a servant of God, like I am.
I got a call from a man in 2024.
The man needed my urgent intervention in a matter, and I told the man I would pray about it and get back to him.
As soon as I got off the call from the man, my phone buzzed, and it was a WhatsApp message
This man, the one who gave me the prophecy in 2023, was the one who sent me the message
He greeted me and wrote, "Tell the man who just reached out to you that the Lord said the matter before the tribunal has been sorted and he has the victory".
I checked Truecaller and discovered his identity.
I bless the Lord for sending help ahead of me to prepare me for the seasons ahead of my life.
The Lord be praised forever. Amen.
PS: The GSWMI prophetic service is every Wednesday, and we do it online. You can join from anywhere in the world at your convenience.
I am inviting you to be a part of it
How prophecy has guided and shaped my life, I cannot explain in full, but it is evident to all that without it, I would not be awake this morning, writing one of the most beautiful thanksgiving letters to the Lord as I am doing now.
It is time to complete phase one of His City of refuge!
Glory be to God
Remember Esau
A lot of Nigerians think it is a good idea to be bashing Nigeria on X and other social media platforms.
They even get retweeted and reposted and this convinces them that they are doing the right thing
The lot of them are poor and their mindset is also poor so they see Nigeria from their poorly calibrated realities.
It doesn’t matter if they studied and became doctors, lawyers and professors.
Poverty mindset is not mastered by book knowledge, it is mastered by mind renewal.
Imagine someone comparing Ghana to Nigeria..:
Even the president of Ghana and all their leaders wouldn’t dare but one guy who travelled to Ghana and managed to stay in a place outside of his poverty conditioned mindset is suddenly so impressed to the point of talking down on his own country.
If you are following such a guy or lady on this app, I will ask you to please go and unfollow such
If such a person had a business, I will also ask you not to patronize him or her anymore
There is a reason Esau sold his birthright, in his mind it was not of any significance
The Bible said he sought it later with tears but it was too late
From today, make it a point of duty to see yourself as a part of Nigeria (not just someone born in her and who is dwelling in her), this is why Russians call their country “Motherland” and as harsh and difficult their weather is, they mastered it and prospered.
The secret to prospering in a country lies with the mindset of her citizens.
A lot of Nigerians are unpatriotic and this is reflected from the behaviour of the leaders to that of the citizens.
DANGOTE said something recently and I subscribe to it.
If leaders are patriotic and “corrupt” and they invest the gains of their corruption in their country, the citizens benefit.
Unpatriotic leaders rape the country they profess to serve and they take the gains of the country to another nation because they do not have any love or sense of responsibility towards their country.
Corruption is evil
Being unpatriotic is more evil
When Saul wanted to kill the priests of Nob, the Israelites with him refused to carry out the order
It was Doeg the Edomite who carried out the order because he had no patriotic affiliation or connection to Israel and the sanctity of the priesthood.
Once you see anyone bashing your country, unfollow the person!
America is experiencing serious flooding and before now heavy forest fires that destroyed property estimated in their billions
You don’t see Americans typing evil things about their country or comparing their country to Haiti and saying Haiti is better than America.
The evils happening in America daily are much worse than anything Nigerians are experiencing and you don’t see people saying America has happened to them!
I travel all over the world every year, I have never seen any country without its own issues
America is in serious debt as a country. America has several communities without internet facilities and people who sleep on the street in their thousands.
Poverty begins with denigrating your origin.
Once you lose the essence of who you are, you lose the capacity to make the right decisions.
Why do you think many so called Nigerians engage in crime even when they are outside of the country where they have the opportunity to live a better life as advertised by many?
“They convince themselves that their country is not good, so they are also not good and therefore they can only do things that are not good”
Our parents would often say remember the child of whom you are. If however the child sees his or her parents as evil, whenever he or she remembers home, he or she would do evil things because that is what he or she remembers.
Nigeria is a great nation
Nigerians are blessed people
God is in the midst of this great country and this country shall continue to prosper. Amen

I have refrained from jumping on any trend or topic circulating among poverty minded Twitter folks for a long time.
The recent “single mother” topic was one of them
It spoke of poverty and lack of exposure to a level I find uncomfortable
I decided to let ignorance have its day in the sun and leave the matter.
The reason I commented on the story of the lady who claimed she repented twice was because I know she regretted her circumstances and not her actions.
If her boyfriend who got her pregnant had the means and the will to stay in her life, she would have stayed with him and even had more children with him
The fact that the man left and she found herself without support was what led to all the repentance and the crying for God to save her, not from sin, but from poverty and the consequences of her actions.
You must always test the gospel you believe against poverty, if it stands, then it is the right gospel
If it fails, it is surely not the right gospel.
Had she been independently rich and successful, she wouldn’t be repenting twice. She would be strategizing her next moves in life and planning ahead for her baby.
There are many single mothers in Europe and America who find solace in a social system that supports them and are able to make something of their life after they had their child.
In Nigeria it is tough.
One of the ways we try to stop the proliferation of poverty is to stop the poor from having sex until they can fend for themselves (this is only sensible), the rich does not think this way.
If the daughter of the rich gets pregnant, he nurtures her until she delivers her child, takes the child as a blessing, gives the child his name and continues supporting his daughter.
I met a family in Italy, the 17 year old daughter of the owner of a winery returned home from school with pregnancy
The parents hugged her and they all talked as if it was normal
The older brother came in, saw her and said “Who is the father of the baby you are carrying?”
The father turned to him and said “That’s a rude question, if she wants us to know she will share it with us, otherwise, we become grandparents and this is good for the family”
I was shocked.
The way the rich reasons is different from the way the poor reasons and the way the rich interprets the gospel is different from the way the poor interprets the gospel.
Most abortions globally are done by the poor, because they will say “I cannot afford to keep the baby”
Note that it is a question of affordability, not an issue of sin or guilt.
Many Christians have daughters who abort babies at least twice before they graduated from the university because a baby outside wedlock is unacceptable.
We would rather make murderers out of our daughters than become grandparents.
Being a single mother has become so stigmatized, that abortion clinics are cashing in daily on the hypocrisy of our “gospel”.
A lady commits abortion and gets ordained a deaconess, another lady births the baby and gets public shame and punishment from the church.
Many of us don’t see anything wrong with this and that means our gospel is not the right one.
We would rather marry someone who had committed abortions than someone who had the courage to give birth to the baby.
We don’t know the gospel.
When people harp on the issue of sin and its consequences all the time, they are poor.
The gospel of sin consciousness is the safeguard we impose on the poor to keep them from enjoying any form of freedom because the consequences of their freedom may be too hard for them to bear.
A girl is dating a poor guy, her mother says “Don’t let him touch you, remember it is a sin.
The same girl meets a rich guy, the mother says “Hope you are doing EVERYTHING to keep him”
The wrong choice is not the sex but who she is having the sex with.
Sex is best to be had within the safety of a marriage, of that truth there is no equal.
Regret is different from repentance
If your gospel affects only the poor, it is sin consciousness

The Delusions of the Manipulated
A man and six of his friends came to me sometime last year at Muritala Mohammed Domestic Airport 2
He was fifty-two years old, a music promoter who had lived in the United Kingdom for many years and had done well for himself financially
The man, however, has had a very rough patch maritally and has not been able to settle down with any woman
A friend of his decided to help him connect with a lady in Warri, Delta State
The friend also had some young Nigerian talents whose music he wanted to promote in the United Kingdom, and he brought them to the airport to meet with this music promotion legend
They all met him at the airport and were supposed to all take the next local flight out of Lagos to Warri
The flight was delayed
I was also meant to be on that flight
The man saw me and brought all his friends to me
I didn’t know him, but I had crossed paths with one of his friends in the UK, who was seriously sick (leukemia), and prayed with the friend over the phone
The friend got healed, and the testimony of the friend was how the man got to know about me, the online fellowship, and GSWMI
I was shocked to see them, especially because of the way they were all dressed (dreadlocks, coloured hair, tattoos, earrings, jeans sagging, sunglasses of different colours, and jewellery all over)
I don’t judge anyone by their dressing, but I was raised in Ibadan, and sometimes that conservative training makes me run far away from those who are dressed like that because of the deviant behavior that usually comes with their culture
He shouted, “Brother Gbenga, I stretched my hand to shake him, and he brushed the hand aside and hugged me in an embarrassing manner.”
He carried me up with a hug and was screaming with joy
All the while, I was wondering who he was
After he eventually dropped me back on my feet in one piece, he introduced himself and then proceeded to introduce all the guys that came with him
All of them greeted me in a very familiar and warm manner
Then he told me he was going to Warri to check out a babe and see if it is possible to marry her while he still had some time to raise children
I wanted to tell him, “Great, the Lord bless you,” so that they can all move back to their seats and give me some space, but there is the Spirit of God in me
He has his own right of expression
He is the fullness of all my expressions
I said, “They are not taking you to Warri to give you a wife, they are taking you to Warri to torture you and collect all your hard-earned money.”
I didn’t say it into his ears
I just said it so that they all heard me
There was silence, then his so-called friend said, “That is true. He deserves all the bad things that will happen to him in this life and more. If we kill him today or if someone else kills him tomorrow, it will be a well-deserved death. This man is evil, and he should suffer.”
The fifty-two-year-old man was shocked to the bone at the outburst of his friend
They had been friends since they met in 1993 as secondary school friends in Nigeria
It was right after secondary school that he moved to the United Kingdom with his family
They reconnected through Facebook in 2009
They had never had any business dealings, and they usually would catch up once in a while on WhatsApp or FaceTime and just talk about life and work
So, how did he offend this “Friend”
The friend said things had never gone the right way for him in life (He got rusticated out of three universities and also couldn’t complete his degree programme with the Open University. He couldn’t hold down a job, had three children with three different women who were taking care of the children without his input, and he does odd jobs around clubs, event management companies, security companies, and upcoming musicians.
Everywhere he went for prayers, he was told someone close to him stole his glory, but nobody ever told him who did that and how it was done
He said the last place he visited, the man (pastor) asked him who in his life does something similar to him, who is very rich, and they see each other as friends
The only person who came to his mind was his friend in the United Kingdom
They are both in the entertainment industry and pushing the same hustle, but while his friend had prospered, he had wallowed in poverty
The pastor then asked him if his friend had ever tried to help him out financially or in any other way (like helping him to move to the United Kingdom)
He said his friend had always known of his financial and life struggles and had never offered to help or support him in any way
The pastor then asked if they lived together at any point in their lives, and if he remembered if his shirt or any item of his clothing was missing at the time
He told the pastor they met in the boarding school, and his friend asked him specifically for combat jeans made by FUBU, which his parents bought him, and he willingly gave them to his friend
The Pastor then said, “That was the moment you traded your glory with your friend.”
He said his body was covered with chills and goosebumps, as soon as those words were spoken, it was as if his body confirmed the pastor’s words as true
He asked the pastor how it could be recovered
The pastor told him it is either the person using his glory dies or willingly hands it back to him by willingly giving him any form of gift, help or money without being asked
The pastor told him to fast and pray for three days, and either of the two would happen to confirm the Word he had heard
He said he fasted and prayed
On the third day of the fast, his friend suddenly called him out of nowhere and told him he just got some commission on a tour he organized for a music band to the tune of seven hundred thousand pounds
He, in turn, told his friend that things were tough and he had not even paid his rent
His friend just said, “Buckle up and man the storm out, man, man it out.”
To his mind, this was a further confirmation of the prophecy he received because he had assumed his friend would send him some money, and this would then mean a turnaround in his fortune as he would get his glory back.
After another six months without making any progress in life, he decided to talk to his friend about this lady whom he could get married to or have children with in Nigeria, and they began to talk about the friend’s journey to Nigeria
It was when the plan had matured that he decided he would have to take what was taken from him by force, since it was not given to him willingly.
I asked the friend if he had any money on him
He said “Yes”
I told him to bring out his wallet and empty it out for this friend in Nigeria
He did so without an argument
The friend also collected it
I told the friend that if what his pastor said was true, that would mean he had recovered his glory by collecting the money which his friend offered willingly
He said yes
I said Thank you.
The friend and his goons left at that point
The one that flew in from the UK stayed with me, still too stunned to speak
Eventually, he said, “Thank you so much, Brother Gbenga, I don’t even know what I should do now. I had planned to be here for two weeks and lined up many activities with the help and support of my friend. Do I cancel them or reach out to those people directly? Do I just return to the UK or maybe visit some friends and family members while I am here?”
I told him to keep as far away from his Nigerian friend as possible
I know many Nigerians in his shoes who misuse their life daily but always blame their misbehaviour on a third party
I have seen husbands whose wives were prospering financially, and their conclusion was that the wife was using their glory
I have seen children whose mothers believe their fathers were using their glory to prosper in life
I have seen wives who also claim their husbands became fortunate in life by the use of their glory
The story of someone stealing a friend’s glory by taking their shirt or clothes is not new to me. I heard it first in 2009 from the mouth of a pastor who said it happened to him in Akure, and only God helped him to rescue his glory from a friend who wanted to use it
The pastors and prophets who made these assertions a thing in Nigerian Christianity didn’t know the Word of God, and they also do not have the spirit of God
NOBODY CAN USE THE GLORY OF ANOTHER PERSON, IT IS SPIRITUALLY IMPOSSIBLE
When the weak-minded is told such a thing, they believe it and want it to be true so that they can hide behind it as an excuse not to do well in life
The strong-minded, when told such a thing, laughs it off because he or she knows success is an assured destination for him or her in life.
It is time to bury this lie once and for all.
PS: The friend returned to the United Kingdom and cut off all ties with his old friend
Imagine my shock when, at about 4 AM this morning, I got a message from the Nigerian friend, who claimed his glory was used, lamenting to me that things are still very difficult for him and he would like me to pray for him and with him to break the yoke of stagnancy and poverty.
I thought he had collected his glory back, and by now, he should be swimming in success and fortune
He would have killed or injured his friend for nothing
His lack of ability to put his brain to work is the true reason behind his poverty
Anybody who believes someone can use his or her glory would not know how to prosper, even if you draw him or her a map

A lesson I wish I learned earlier: Fear comes from inexperience, not incapability. You're afraid because you haven't done it yet, not because you can't do it. Inexperience is the problem to be solved—and it's only solved through having the courage to act.
Christians and Religious spirits
A religious spirit is a demon that wages war against the grace of God in our lives and acceptance of Jesus’ work as true fulfillment of God’s covenant between God and man. The Pharisees were obvious examples of people who have religious spirits, but many times those of us with religious spirits do not come close to their behavior. Having had religious spirits myself, I must say that they are very destructive to our intimate relationships with God. If you want a true intimate relationship with your heavenly Father, then you definitely don’t want religious spirits!
It is said that religion and relationship don’t get along, and this is why religious spirits will work diligently to hinder true meaningful relationships between God and His children.
Religious spirits can manifest in different ways for different people, depending on the level of ignorance and lack of scriptural understanding of that person.
For example, one person may be plagued with feelings of never being good enough for God, while the next person may be infected with self-righteousness and false holiness. A perfomance mentality that makes the person believe that it is by his or her own personal activities and conducts that he or she attained the level of anointing or grace or power or holiness he or she is operating in.
In many countries where Christianity is practised, you see many pastors asking people to sow seeds into their lives in order to tap into their level of anointing. This is not a scriptural practise because there was never a practise of such in the Bible. The first man to offer to sow financial or moneytary gift into the life of a person who is full of the Holy Spirit so that he can also be full of the Holy Spirit was a sorcerer whose story we saw in the Book of Acts chapter 8
Simon the Sorcerer
9 Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great, 10 and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.” 11 They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery. 12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.
14 When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”
24 Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”
25 After they had further proclaimed the word of the Lord and testified about Jesus, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages.
How this became a common and acceptable practise which many preachers boldly state on the altar is puzzling.
What are some of the common religious spirits?
Religious spirits, like many other types of demons, have relatives or similar demons in their groupings. This is a basic list of demons that you might find in somebody who has a religious spirit:
judgementalism
self-righteousness
religious pride
criticism
legalism
perfectionism
division
error (doctrinal falsehood)
unbelief
doubt
confusion
argumentism
false holiness
salvation by works
guilt
condemnation
fear of losing salvation
fear of God (unhealthy, scared feeling)
intolerance
sin-consciousness
guilt tripping self and others
Demon consciousness
Spiritual Attack mentality with emphasis on the power of the enemy
Some of the common symptoms of religious spirits
Often, people who have religious spirits will find it hard to believe that salvation comes through the grace of God apart from works of the law. They may find it easy to judge others or criticize them over petty issues. There is usually a sense of ‘earning’ your status or good standing with God.
Legalism is a popular bondage today where a person feels that they have to adhere to a strict set of rules (laws) before they can be made right with God. People who never feel good enough for a relationship with God, but are continually condemned or have a guilty feeling hovering over them may have a religious spirit(s) operating in their mind. The feeling of ‘never being good enough’ is a dead giveaway, because it shows that the person is trying to make things right with God themselves and not relying on the work of Christ, which already paid their debt in full.
If you think of yourself as more important than others, then you almost certainly have a self-righteous or false holiness spirit. Other things you might look for are feelings that you’re always right and everybody else is wrong, or a weakness with being outspoken. Somebody who comes across as a know-it-all may also have religious spirits.
Thinking that you can do things apart from God is another dead-giveaway. Jesus made it very clear that apart from Him, you can do nothing:
John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
These are just some examples of what you may look for.
Biblical examples of judgementalism and self-righteousness
Luke 18:9-14, “And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
As we can see, somebody who sees themselves as superior to others is often in bondage to a religious spirit(s) of some kind. This Pharisee felt that he had earned his good standing with God, and that the sinner had not, therefore he had reason to boast before the Lord. The Bible makes it clear that our salvation is an undeserved gift from God, lest any man boast:
Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
The Pharisees were always looking down upon others, as if they were superior to everyone else. Look at this passage where they criticized Jesus for hanging out with tax collectors:
Luke 5:30, “But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?”
Another example of this is where a woman poured expensive perfume over Jesus’ feet, and washed them with her tears and her hair. The Pharisees had to put in their 2 cents over this woman:
Luke 7:39, “Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.”
People with religious spirits are often judging and criticizing others in their thought-lives. They see themselves as holy, righteous, and favored by God, but look down upon others.
Religious spirits are more interested in judgment than forgiveness
Somebody who has religious spirits will often be more interested in seeing somebody ‘pay’ or be punished for their wrongdoing, than they are in seeing the person repent and receive the forgiveness and grace of God. A good example of this is found in John chapter 8:
John 8:3-11, “And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
The Pharisees were known for laying heavy burdens (spiritually speaking) on others, yet omit the more important matters such as justice, mercy and faith:
Matthew 23:4, 23, “For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers… Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment [referring to justice], mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.”
Jesus said that if you are heavy laden, to come unto Him and He will give you rest, for His yoke is light:
Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Salvation apart from works does not settle well with religious spirits
People who have spirits of religion, legalism, etc. find it hard to accept the fact that their sins have been paid for on the cross, and that there is nothing that they can do but accept the gift that God has given them. Religion likes to ‘earn’ status with God, whereas relationship accepts the gift that Christ has given.
Luke 7:29-30, “And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.“
Matthew 21:32, “For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”
In the above verses, we can see that the Pharisees felt too proud or self-righteous to accept a free gift from God; they felt they were already holy or felt they could earn their right standing themselves. Religious spirits will often hold your past against you, because they deny the work of Christ on the cross and the way of righteousness through faith in Christ (see Romans 3:22). Grace refers to something that we don’t deserve, but is given to us because of God’s great love and mercy. Religious spirits have little or no room in their theology for grace!
God’s Word makes it clear that if we try to gain salvation through works, then we have fallen from grace and the work of Christ is of no effect to us:
Galatians 5:4, “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”
When Jesus would freely forgive a person’s sins, it made the Pharisees irate, because it didn’t settle well with their self-righteous spirits. The concept of grace was an abomination to their doctrine of legalism!
Mark 2:5-7, “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?”
Here Jesus just forgave a man of his sins, and as proof that He was sent from God… He healed the man while He was at it!
But the religious mindset in those scribes overlooked the miraculous healing and was quick to judge Jesus for gracefully forgiving the man’s sins.
Religious spirits are easy prey to unforgiveness
Do you feel like you’ve been wronged, and that person deserves justice for what they’ve done to you? This may very well be the workings of a religious spirit. Remember, religious spirits are more interested in justice and punishment than mercy and forgiveness.
Feeling this way is actually a form of pride because it holds you up on a righteous pedestal while it sees the other person as a sinner who deserves to be repaid for the wrong they’ve done. There is no concept of mercy or forgiveness for the other person, nor is there any remembrance of how they themselves needed mercy in their own life at some time or another. They are only interested in seeing the person who wronged them repaid and receive judgment for their wrong. Beware, this can often be a dead giveaway of a religious spirit at work!
Religious spirits are very popular today. If you have religious spirits, please do not hesitate to turn to the Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to rid you of it.
They are out to wage war against your intimate relationship with God. They can make you feel distant from God, because no matter what you do, it will never be enough, or they can set you up for spiritual disaster through pride and self-righteousness. Either way, their goal is to nullify the work of Christ in your life, and make it to no effect for you. Being set free from religious spirits can bring major spiritual freedom and a breakthrough in your relationship with God!
PS: Religious Spirits are the custodians of every religion, they insist on the rules and they know nothing of mercy and compassion
In a religion, they would cut off arms, behead, strap bombs on the body and blow up people, sell people and use people as slaves, call women animals and treat them as such, and yet the women would not be able to protest
They are the guardians of every religion, from Judaism to Christianity and Islam and every other religion
This is why James said the true religion is not the following of rules and regulations but taking care of orphans, and widows, and being unstained by the world. True religion is an action, not adherence to any gathering which requires set rules of engagement, laws, and norms
When you pay attention to religious arguments, you will see that those who push for one thing or the other and call others names usually practice religion
Christianity is a relationship, a personal relationship, therefore those who truly practice it do not argue religion or rules
They just do it because it is a “doing” not a talking.
Jesus said you are my friends if you “DO” whatsoever I have commanded you

From Crisis to Christ
Her journey started at 18
She remembered buying household items with all the money she had saved out of her pocket money and gifts to prepare herself for the big move
She didn’t tell anybody about her plans
She started dreaming of it when she was sixteen years old
Independence
Living alone and being the Lord and master of her own life
Her father had died when she was nine years old
Her mother raised her and her younger sister
Her mother was a beautiful woman who got married to a man fifty years older than her for the money
Her mother never hid her intentions from her and her sister
Her mother would say, “He was the highest bidder, I knew he had a short time left but no other man in my life offered as much goodies as he did
So I married him after he deposited one hundred thousand dutchmark in my bank account
After the marriage, he deposited another one hundred thousand dutchemark
We had a deal
I give him two children, he will train them for as long as he was alive
He will write a will and give them their birthright while he was yet alive
I knew he had two previous marriages and that he also had children from those marriages
I encouraged him to settle his affairs accordingly
He was 70 when I married him
I was twenty years old
We were all living in Amsterdam at the time even though he was a citizen of Yugoslavia
Her father lived another ten years after marrying her mother
They had two children
She couldn’t really remember her father
The older she grew the more the memory faded
She grew up lacking nothing
Her father left her mother a beautiful house, some money in the bank, money in each child’s trust fund and other blessings
When she was sixteen, she had her first boyfriend, a 19-year-old Chinese classmate of hers
Her mother frowned at the relationship because the chinese guy was poor
In her opinion, her mother was too materialistic
She prized money above every other thing
She however wanted to explore other aspects of life
She had never known poverty and as such money was the last thing she bothered about
Her mother didn’t allow the relationship to thrive
She nagged her day and night because she was hanging around a chinese guy who came from no money and offered no prospect for the future
That was when she began to dream of leaving home
The legal age to do so was eighteen
She would wake up in the morning looking at the calendar and counting the days
She wanted so badly to be free
Four months before she turned eighteen, she went to register for her own apartment at the city center
She had money in the bank, her trust fund which was due to her when she turned eighteen
On her birthday she moved into her own apartment
Her mother couldn’t believe it
“How have I offended you that you chose to run away as soon as you turned eighteen? You couldn’t even honor me by spending the day with your family and then you can leave tomorrow. You woke up on your eighteenth birthday and you are leaving first thing in the morning”
She had however made up her mind
She was not going to fall for the emotional blackmail
She moved and didn’t see her mother for two years
Her Chinese boyfriend moved in with her
She was studying and working as a waitress to make some income
She somehow discovered she was pregnant within the first six months of leaving home
it dawned on her that her boyfriend was not the right man for her
He simply said “I don’t want the baby, take care of it”
So she did
When she got back home that day, she felt so bad she refused to talk to him
All she did was cry
The day after that she was still unhappy, maybe even suffering from post-abortion depression
He tried talking to her, but she was not in the mood
Later that evening he left the house and left her a note that he was going to see his parents
A few days later, she got a call from her younger sister
Her younger sister asked her if she had broken up with her chinese boyfriend
She said no
Her younger sister said she just saw him and another girl kissing at a bar
That evening, she went to that same bar and saw her boyfriend there with this new lady
He saw her and immediately walked towards her
She turned away
She just wanted him to see that she knew what he was doing
He came back begging that night
She didn’t say anything
The next day, she went to the same bar and picked up a random man
She wanted to hurt her boyfriend the way he had hurt her
She slept with the guy and then called her boyfriend to come and pick her up at the guy’s house
She told the guy she was calling her chauffeur
Her boyfriend arrived, saw her and the guy and went berserk
he beat the buy up, and everybody ended up at the police station
her sister came to bail her out
She bailed out the other guy and left her boyfriend there
She was done!
It was her first heartbreak and her first payback
Life became a slippery slope from there
She began to frequent bars and ended up dating all sorts
Germans, Jews, Syrians, Dutch, Belgian, Norwegian, French, Irish, English, Lebanese, Indian, Ghanian, Italian
The Italian guy was a mobster
He got her a job as an air hostess on an airline that flies across Europe and sometimes he got some of his smugglers on board her flight
She dated him for four years
He treated her to a life of luxury but he was a very violent man who could only dominate people by fear
She had to get admission into the University of Manchester in England in order to get away from him
When she got to Manchester, he asked her if he could keep cash with her
One million pounds for a week or two and she gets to keep ten percent of the fund
She realized he was going to set her up for money laundry operations
The dangers of engaging in that world was great
Some people would know the money was with her and come for it with guns and so on
What about the police?
How about some gang members somewhere
She told him she would get back to him and immediately threw her phone away
She changed her address, changed her phone number and moved to another location
She also got a job in Manchester as a beautician
She had always been strikingly beautiful, she knew all the right skin care products and routines, she studied and got a certificate to practice while she was still an air hostess and it came in handy in her time of need
In Manchester, she made new friends
One of them was married and her husband began to hit on her
It was in poor taste but the guy wouldn’t stop, so she got into a relationship just to keep the guy at bay
The guy she got into a relationship with suffered from serious insecurity
One day, her phone rang while she was beside him and he pounced on her right there in the car for daring to take a call
He destroyed her phone, left her bleeding all over her face, and dragged her out of his car at the nearest gas station
She was happy he didn’t kill her
That was her only fear while going through the whole ordeal
She went to the police station to report, he was picked up and left in jail for weeks
His parents eventually came to her to beg that she should drop the case
They paid her 100,000 euros for her Blackberry phone, hospital treatment, and other compensations
She dropped the case and never heard from him again
She decided at this point to become celibate
it seems her love life will always be a mess
She realized she attracted only dangerous and criminally minded men and that path would inevitably lead to much sorrow for her
She stayed off the grid from that moment, interacting with only her mum and sister
Her mother had remarried at this point
Her sister had also moved out of the house to live on her own
She met with a woman a work, they became friends and the woman introduced her to new age spiritulaity
She would go to the woman’s house, they would meet with some other people and sit around some tarot cards and say some mantras or spells and so on
Sometimes the card would recommend that she went to river to have some form of bath with candles and perfumes and some other things
She began to do it religiously
When she told her sister about it, her sister got alarmed and told her she was playing with fire
She somehow did it out of curiosity
One night, she was sleeping in her bed and saw a snake climb into bed with her and begin to make love to her
curling itself all over her, kissing her, she undressed herself and kissed it back without any fear
When she woke up her bed was all rumpled as if a lover had just left her side
It became a constant occurrence in her life
She was thirty-nine years old and suddenly she had moved from having dangerous and insecure human lovers to having a dangerous and insecure spirit as a bedmate
She stopped participating in the tarot readings and meetings
She moved from Manchester to Birmingham
She wanted to start all over again as she had always done but this spirit followed her everywhere
On some nights, she would wake up from a deep love-making experience that she couldn’t describe to anyone
She decided to get therapy
It took away her money and time but it didn’t work
SHe began to lose weight and grow sickly
Her sister and mother came to visit her
When they saw her, they got scared
She confided in them that she had gotten herself into a serious mess with a demon
Her sister told her about the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
She told him he was in Holland and they could book an appointment to meet with him
The next morning, they flew into Amsterdam
They met with the brother in Jeans and T-shirt at a park
He was having a conversation with some folks while they were all eating hotdogs and milkshakes
He met with the two of them and told her sister all she needed to do was give her life to Jesus
“Sir, I need serious prayer. i am prepared to fast and pray and do vigils. I have called a prophetess in New York who told me to come prepared to have spiritual work done which would cost me some money.
Another man of God told me I needed deliverance and he would do it for me after a seven-day period, during which I would consecrate myself through fasting and prayer. So lay it all bare for me, i can take it. I will do anything to be free. Just tell me whatever you want me to do I am ready”
He told her she could be free right there, under the tree in a park within a minute
She said she was ready
He sensed that she was skeptical
He laughed and said, “The Lord has been waiting for you to come to him long before you were born, he will never set hurdles before you or give you tasks to accomplish before he will give you His rest.”
he led her to Christ, laid hands on her afterward and said “Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus”
That was it.
Right there in the park, in the presence of all
Tourists, passersby, cyclists and all
She fell and began to writhe like a snake while also foaming in her mouth
They just watched her until the spirit shook her and left
When the spirit was gone, she lay there for a few minutes more before opening her eyes
She has been delivered out of darkness and now she belongs to the Lord”
PS: Unbelievers need to be delivered out of darkness into the Kingdom of His own dear son
Believers don’t need deliverance, they need knowledge
if you tell your child all I need to do is pray for you and you will pass all your exams, you are doing your child a disservice
You encourage your child to study and to know more, and this knowledge will help your child make better decisions for his or her life and also pass his or her exams
Praying for born-again Christians against evil spirits and curses etc is doing them a disservice
Teaching them to observe the things the Lord has commanded us by the spirit and to grow in the knowledge of Christ will make them master
There is no record of any believer who had a deliverance session conducted on them by the apostles
The greatest darkness for the believer is ignorance and the knowledge of Christ cures that
Always remember this.

I Remember
I remember the day the Lord told me to bring the gospel to Twitter
It was a very odd conversation
I was a Personal Assistant to a pastor at the time and this pastor was the one that told me that i must be creative and innovative if i was to last as his staff
He said i must come up with ways that he had not thought of through which the church he was pastoring could bring in more souls
I sat down and thought about it for a while
I joined Twitter in 2011 but I had very little understanding of how the app worked
The church already had Facebook on its list of broadcast platforms
I decided to open a Twitter account for the church
I opened it and began to build the account with daily engagement and followership until the number of followers hit 100,000
I took my report to the pastor and showed him that I had been streaming the church's special programmes on Twitter and I had gained followership by the thousands
The man saw the analytics and asked me to get the chief media officer for the church to see him
I went to see the brother and told him the pastor wanted to see him
When he got to the Pastor's office, the pastor showed him the analytics and asked him what he thought of it
The Brother looked puzzled and said "Twitter is not useful for church settings because it has a limited number of words you can write and does not really stream video except short clips etc. He also said one has to sit and type out stuff all day with a hashtag and the people on the app were wild and mostly rude
He told the pastor to forget the idea and stick with Facebook
The pastor looked at me, smiled, and said "You have been wasting your time chasing shadows and tweeting thousands of things that are of no use to the church.
How many hours have you spent on this app?
I can see you are getting close to 100,000 tweets
(I had tweeted the Bible, verse by verse from Genesis to Revelation in King James Version, NIV, RSV, The Message Bible, and NIT Version
I had also tweeted Harken Unto Me, an interdenominational service the church held every Wednesday from 8am to 10am for about a year
Real people retweeted, followed and some even came to the church to look for me when they discovered I was the one behind the church handle)
The Pastor said I had wasted the church's resources and should shut it down immediately
I tried to explain that real people actually came to the church from Ketu, Ikeja, Magodo, Shangisha, and Berger areas of Lagos
They came for both the Herken Unto Me Programme and other special programmes I announced on the app
He laughed and said there was no point digging the hole I had found myself deeper
He demanded that I shut it down immediately
So I changed the handle from the church's name to mine
and abandoned the app for a week
I was thinking of what else to do to please this boss of mine when I came across a thread on Twitter for the first time
Someone actually wrote a story via a thread and the story got a lot of retweets
Wow
So I tried it
I wrote my first thread and i had over 1000 retweets
Comments came from everywhere
I figured out Twitter's audience in my head that very day
I discovered the feminists, clout chasers, glory hunters, catfishers, cookers, bots, scammers, beggers, and manipulators and I also figured out how to engage or avoid them
A lot of people came into my DM
A lot of comments and quoted comments
Then I got the greatest comment of all and it was from the Holy Spirit
He said "Take the gospel I have given you, the way i have given it to you to the people here
Build me a platform here
Thrive here"
This was 2019 January, just after we came into the new year
I began to do threads daily sharing the gospel in a unique way
I shared testimonies and told stories of real people who encountered the gospel and its power of salvation
I just obeyed
On February 15, 2019, the Lord said to me "Start a Bible School and teach my children their supernatural abilities and inheritance in me"
I wrote a tweet and dropped a whatsapp link at 5:15AM
I slept off and woke up at about 6:30 am
I found out i had over 100 people who had registered for the school
This was how PSSBC started off Twitter
We will be commencing school 20 of PSSBC come January 8th, 2024
From that PSSBC school, we raised giants of the gospel from all over the world
Only God knows how many sick people had been healed, how many miracle babies had been born and how many souls had been brought to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ since them
The number of ministries that have come out of PSSBC globally and formally is over 50
Churches, schools, fellowships, gatherings, meetings and seminars
I never saw any of it coming
I was just a personal assistant to a pastor who was trying to impress his boss and got torn down for all the hours of hard work he put in on a platform
Churches and pastors found the threads I write on Twitter useful for their sermons
I got a lot of requests from ministers asking me for permission to use my stories in their sermons and sometimes I got invited to speak
First to youth meetings and then to other kinds of meetings
We started many prayer groups and all of them were successful
The demand for the threads led to the creation of https://t.co/1vEpFHFMe9
A website where all the stories were published for free
I remember many people asking me to monetize the website
I said no!
I built the website with all my life savings at the time
Soon after @oduonyi reached out to me on Twitter and asked if she could support us with apps
She was my first contact from Canada and the Head of the GSWMI North America fellowship
We built the apps and then created https://t.co/a0Pcju1yb3 website with Apps too
The local church i was attending at the time had made me an altar minister
They gave me a portfolio as Minister in charge of Vigils
I called for a vigil and only 12 people showed up
I called for a vigil and announced it on twitter and hundreds of people showed up
At that first meeting, a lady afflicted with cancer who had been discharged to go home and die was healed in front of the whole church
Those who came to that vigil thinking "What is all the noise about" sat up immediately and joined PSSBC after that
I remember a couple came in from the UK that December and when they got to our prayer meeting, the power of the Holy Spirit came upon the wife so heavily that her period which had stopped for over ten years came right there!
The husband had been suffering from erectile dysfunction too
This was one of the reasons they traveled to Nigeria that season
They were told about a traditional medical clinic where they both could get some help
Jesus healed them completely
The brother's machine began to rev right from the vigil, in the presence of the Holy Spirit and in the fellowship of the saints
A month later, they announced their pregnancy
The church I was attending was not spared of God's goodness
All the waiting mothers i met in the church got pregnant that season
Things turned around so fast that some of the people in the church began to grumble and complain
They told the pastor it could not be God
God does not move that fast or that effectively
Unfortunately, I got invited to minister in Ghana and I went
When I returned they told the pastor I had gone to Ghana to make Ghana voodoo and so on
I wonder why they think I was unworthy to be a channel of blessing and dispensing of God's grace and power
It was as if they did a form of screening and I failed their standard in a way
I still wonder who they would have nominated for the assignment if they had a say in the matter
God was unmoved by the antics of the people
Glorious things continued to happen in supernatural ways which I could neither explain nor take credit for
My season as a personal assistant was done
I resisted it because I couldn't see the future but I had to resign by November 2019
One month to my fifth year on the job
I had hoped to hold on so i would get my severance pay according to their law in the church but the chief accountant of the church forced me out and told me since i was a month short, i would get nothing
Truth be told, i spent the last year doing more ministry work than the job I was employed to do
This was not my fault but who cares?
The local church i was attending also kicked me out after the first Homo Christus Convention in October 2019
They almost didn't grant us leave to use the church for the event even though the church kept all the offerings raised at all our meetings
Some ministers would rather shut down the church than allow us to preach "eternal salvation" and "heal the sick with strange powers"
They eventually had their way
The church shut down after we had moved on and they were satisfied
I found myself doing ministry full-time
It was not my planned exit strategy but I was out
I found myself registering ministries with CAC
Wow!
I found myself being invited to minister in churches all over the world
I never left my writing, I still wake up 3AM daily to pray and write my thread for the day regardless of the country the Lord had taken me to
There was resistance from many quarters
Some led to separations, a parting of ways, and a divorce, divisions, and splits of all categories
I was accused of so much by those who were close to me who did not understand what was going on and didn't think I was worthy of the grace and the anointing of the Lord
Someone said I had used her glory to become famous
Someone said my mother took me somewhere to make juju power
I understand their situation and empathize
Even I didnt see myself where the Lord had taken me in just four years
We have a city now, I mean...
If it was a church, it is understandable
A City, Pneuma City
We have fellowships in all the continents of the world
We have over 300 active ministers of the gospel
We have thirty-two Heads of Ministry under GSWMI
All of them leading thousands who are doing crazy signs and wonders by the Spirit of truth and grace
And I am not a G.O or a Pastor
I am just a brother who wears Jeans and T-shirt and tries to live a humble and ordinary life
The coming year is going to be different from the ones we have seen before
I saw "suns", rising but not according to the order of time and seasons as we know them
The lights proceeding out of Zion into the world are not ordinary, they will change how we see, what we see and what we consider to be shall be redefined
Those who see and align with the move of the Lord in this regard will find themselves on the path of effortless rise
Those who resist will find themselves stuck in the past with no sun to guide them out
The quick work has commenced and it shall be executed in its full glory in the church of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.
Finally, I saw an Apostle speaking about one of His sons in ministry in a tone that is unworthy of a believer. I understand the pain and how it looks when someone you brought up in ministry begins to act in a manner that seems dishonorable or dishonoring of you.
Can you please be full of grace and practice forgiveness in advance?
Saying you can curse or kill a fellow believer with one word is not something that should be said or seen going viral on the internet. Apart from the fact that this is a lie (Jesus did not give a believer the power to kill another believer, even angels cannot strike a believer who is full of the Holy Spirit), it is also not in conformity with nature and manner of Spirit of Jesus Christ. Luke 9:55
Every man of God whom the Lord has raised to teach His people will experience this, it is normal and we should bear it with grace.
PS: The Lord woke me up at 4:00AM and asked me to write this
I had received a letter yesterday night that i wanted to post this morning but the Lord said this is what he wants me to post as my last post for 2023
A message that testifies of the greatness of God at work in His church and by His power
I found myself in the Nigerian Book of Records, i didnt even know how
I found myself in the corridors of power and influence and I cannot explain how
I found myself surrounded by His glories all over the world
and I cannot plot the graph
The ways of God are truly unsearchable
As we close out 2023, please obey the Lord
What he is asking you may look so silly but your glory lies in total obedience
The gospel we teach has taken many out of religion into Christ with joy unspeakable full of glory
All we are doing daily is obeying the Lord
Please obey the Lord in 2024
A million days of fasting and prayer in disobedience is a waste of time
When you obey the Lord, everything and everyone will align with God's purpose for your destiny
I will see you in the New Year
