For the First Time, Women to Represent Nigeria at the 46th International Qur’an Competition in Saudi Arabia
In a historic and proud milestone, Nigeria will, for the first time, be represented by female contestants at the prestigious International Qur’an Competition hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Hafsa Muhammad Sada, from Kano State, will represent Nigeria in the 60 Hizb (Qira’at) category.
Maryam Ibrahim, from Gombe State, will represent the country in the 60 Hizb (Tafseer) category.
The 46th edition of the competition is scheduled to take place on 19 August 2026.
This marks the first time that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has introduced a women’s category in this highly respected international Qur’an competition, opening a new chapter in promoting and recognizing women’s excellence in Qur’anic studies.
We pray that Allah grants them success, elevates their status, and enables them to return home with victory for Nigeria.

A Christian terrorists from Adara tribe in Northern Nigeria demonstrated to the police how he disguised himself as a Fulani man to collect ransoms in Niger State. By using a Fulani accent and Islamic greeting 'Assalamu alaikum,' he easily tricked people into believing he was Fulani and a Muslim.
You see how almost everyone's criticism is directed to the offender and not Christianity as a religion, same should be done when it involves a Muslim (and believers of other religions). Because if a Muslim had done this, many people will push narratives, making it a religious thing and not focus on who did the wrong, and such acts fuel discrimination.
