Definitely think @NileHoops "Twin Theory" could apply to the TWolves offense with LaMelo & Ant this year after they both ranked top-6 in 3PA last season. Since 2002, almost every teammate duo to each rank top-6 in 3PA had very favorable lineup data and on/off swings.
Nile! Presents TWIN THEORY:
The phenomena in which players with similar physical+stylistic profiles provide synergy-based team lineup improvement. The subliminal ability to preemptively understand a teammate's processes because they mirror one's own must have value in basketball
This was inspired by @Nate_Tice saying he'll "always be fond of guys that push the ball and scramble" on this pod. Obviously the metric hurts pure pocket passers like Burrow but I think it's a solid indication of guys who can lead efficient offenses.

New pod! Predicting the top ten offenses of 2026 with @Nate_Tice, who made some spicy picks! This was a lot of fun ๐

The QB equivalent of Moreyball philosophy in the NFL is deep passing (3s) and scrambles (layups). Here are the top 20 Moreyball QBs last year, using a composite score of QB scramble rate, deep efficiency, and deep attempt rate - I named this metric DRAKE.
@ThunderUpFucker @Bbl_Astrophyscs@BillyFryer42 Iโm a Data Science major, Iโd say in general knowing programming and statistics are the main skills you need to be in the field
Excited to share that my team was named a finalist in the 2025 SMT Data Challenge. We built a modeling pipeline to evaluate cutoff man decision making in baseball. Huge thanks to @Bbl_Astrophyscs and @BillyFryer42 for their help!

@ThunderUpFucker @Bbl_Astrophyscs@BillyFryer42 Itโs called the SMT Data Challenge, sign ups are usually in April and the deadline is in August. Only requirement to join is you have to be enrolled in some sort of college program.
Iโm happy to announce that Iโll be joining the Oklahoma City Thunder as a Basketball Operations Analyst Intern this winter! Working for an NBA team has always been a dream of mine, and Iโm grateful to the defending champs for making it possible. #ThunderUp
@PranavSriraman Completely melted down as a 9.5 point favorite against a bad defense in the playoffs and not a soul cared he has the best job in sports
Here's a look at how the top WRs in ADP this year fared in the five non-counting stats most correlated with 2024 WR Fantasy PPG.
AJ Brown looks like a massive positive regression candidate. He was top-3 in 4 of 5 metrics last year, but currently being drafted as just the WR10.
Drake Maye is a fantasy cheat code waiting to be unlocked. Last year, he had a scramble rate (10.7%) up there with the top rushing QBs of this era, but just 14 designed rush yards.
With Josh McDaniels in town to fix that + new weapons, I'm confident Maye hits QB1 status in 2025.
Can someone explain to me why Jayden Reed is going as the WR43 in drafts right now? He has finished as the WR23 and WR26 the last two years, and his production so far has all the makings of a classic year 3 breakout receiver. Might very well be the steal of the draft.
NEWS: The Celtics have added the NCAA's steals leader to their Summer League roster.
Hayden Gray, a UC San Diego guard, shot 41.8% from three last year & averaged 3.3 steals per game.

The "Championship Shot" of the last 10 NBA Finals. Win probability data from @inpredict . Team had to be tied or ahead in the series (so no Steph G4 '22).
KDs 2017 G3 is so underrated. Cavs are up 4 with 1:24 left to go up 2-1 (88% WP), KD goes on a personal 7-0 run to steal it.
Running total of Red Sox games above .500 since the 2018 World Series. Make sure to tune in on August 21st against the Yankees to see if they can achieve an illustrious 500-500 record.
