@BryJour It's terrible that there is racial bias in medicine. I'm glad that Joel Bervell is speaking up about these issues. There is definitely a lack of representation of people of color in the media.
@jackierausa I think this is a Tik Tok trend that has the potential to be very beneficial, yet it also has the potential to be harmful. It really depends on the intentions of the Tik Tok users that follow this trend, and whether they use this trend to uplift women or to judge them.
@Kmartinez0132 I wonder if people will be drawn to the Meta stores after a former Facebook employee leaked documents to Congress and the media that exposed that Meta is aware of issues with its platforms, yet neglects to find solutions to these problems.
I wonder how much faster online drama will spread with Twitter's release of its new feature, the on-profile search option. #csulbsmc https://t.co/VNmn5eIOfV
There are a lot of people that know social media is unhealthy for them, but not many follow through with deleting social media because they feel like it is necessary to be apart of society today.

@jen_journals@TechCrunch I think it is really beneficial for Snapchat to introduce new safety features for minors using the app. Snapchat is used by so many people, majority of them being young people, so it is very responsible for the social media platform to improve the safety of its users.
@CrisSerr3 I think it's really interesting that with social marketing you can measure your progress by leads and customers, compared to using traditional web metrics, like page views, time spent on a page, and bounce rate. This is helpful for businesses that want to assess their growth.
@Kmartinez0132 I agree that it is harmful for social media platforms to target younger age groups because there is no reason children that young should be using the internet. They can't even understand concepts like internet safety or the dangers of the internet.
@BryJour I'm not surprised this is happening because people have always raised awareness about being careful on the internet due to scammers trying to hack accounts and steal money. It's very important to not click on the wrong ads these days.
@kelseystubbs44@verge Unfortunately, people favor negative content over positive content because people enjoy drama. I understand that posts that are about politics get more views because people are more interested about the conflict in politics, as it is negative content.
@BryJour That's good that Katie Bouรฉ wanted to give back to her community after experiencing living rent free in America. It's interesting that through her job with the Outdoor Industry Association, she learned about how significant of a role the outdoor industry plays in public policy.
@CrisSerr3 It's exciting to see these changes because there are a lot of struggling micro-influencers that need to have their accounts be made more visible to sponsors to be able to fund themselves. Hopefully more social media platforms will follow Facebook's lead.
@Kmartinez0132 This is a difficult issue to address on social media because the influencers that are promoting eating disorders could claim they are promoting a healthy lifestyle. However, I think it is a good idea to prohibit content that encourages eating disorders.
In response to the dangers of social media, Zach Marks created Grom, "a social media platform and original content provider of entertainment for kids." #csulbsmc

@kelseystubbs44@NewYorker This seems like a very smart solution to finding the middle ground between people wanting to use social media to meet new people while also maintaining privacy. The app, Raya, is a good step forward toward making social media a safer place for its users.
@Kmartinez0132 I think that it is very smart of the family to use all their resources, including social media, to find their missing family member. It's refreshing to see social media in a positive light after knowing about all the damage it can do.
@jackierausa I think that the fact that Laserbolt sounding human in his videos but not actually being a real person is suspicious to me because it is almost like the government is trying to see how effectively they cam trick people into thinking these CGIs are real people for the future.
@Chlojo_hogan I think that eliminating quantified popularity is a good first step in the right direction of prioritizing social media users' mental health, especially for those that are at a young age.
Snapchat has created new ways to keep users safe from the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit pills by making it more difficult for people to sell them. https://t.co/klWFwzuaNh #csulbsmc
@BryJour @BiIndia I'm glad that they will be investigating further into Facebook's knowledge about the negative impact their platform has on young people. Facebook should face repercussions for being aware of how they are harming young people for financial gain.
