Interesting. So, how will AI affect the Machiavellian Paradox?
On average, leaders are not that bright as we define intelligence. They can’t be. The average leader is confident, extroverted, and appeals to everyone at the table—in other words the least common denominator. They surround themselves with intelligent people who are self-aware, cautious, and tend toward introversion. Leaders select intelligent ideas from the group, and run with whichever one has the most consensus—whether it‘s a good idea or not.
Sometimes there’s spectacular success and sometimes spectacular failure.
Enter AI. Leaders are now ditching the smart people around them and leaning on smart bots. And as this video points out, there’s consensus when they check the AI’s ideas online. But will there be innovation? Can these leaders execute plans they don’t fully understand? Will the extroverted leaders ultimately feel fulfilled without the group to lead?
