@sqs@AmpCode Haha never knew i can archive old threads.
Amp to the rescue: There are 1,354 currently unarchived threads; 6 were updated today and will be kept. I’m archiving the other 1,348 now.
@davidcrawshaw Also the server you talk to has to store the data somehow in the end. Its just the same as local nvme (or sata, sas) + all the Network Overhead. Doing more is never faster.
@alexellisuk@gm_mertd@slicervm I liked the https://t.co/RlHKi1tCq2 ux so much that i build my own https://t.co/GfRPdjIbO2 i can use on all the old hardware i have laying around.
@davidcrawshaw I’d be interested to know how this works technically.
I imagine the CPU part is relatively straightforward, but how do you handle the RAM? I created 3 VMs and was able to allocate 6GB to each one simultaneously (stress-ng --vm 1 --vm-bytes 6G --vm-keep --timeout 120s).
@binsquares Very cool! I build a similar thing but a little more opinionated/tuned for my personal needs (like heavy @Tailscale integration).
