@IEinsweiler Loreal does a lot to prioritize sustainability! As Gen-Z, many of us value sustainability, so it's wonderful to see a company contributing to it in every way in its products. These are the kinds of organizations that hear about the issues in the world and take positive action.
@DCIMisabellaL I like that they value art, education, & diversity. Those are vital factors that are extremely important to me. Just like you, I prioritize diversity & inclusion. An org that genuinely values diversity& inclusion is a place that is open to growth, & a place where one can succeed.
(2/2) My passion lies in making a positive impact on individuals' lives. Therefore my career goal is to be part of an org that prioritizes making a positive change. BBBS is an excellent representation of an org I'd like to begin my career with, as it values mentorship.
An organization that represents the type of org where I would like to begin my professional career is Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I choose BBBS because I admire its core values and mission in mentioning the youth. #LIDCFall2022 https://t.co/zVFBme7Nyz (1/2)
@DCIMisabellaL I really like how you stated the internal and external engagement to strengthen relationships, which Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shows in her post and overall social media. She educates, gives resources, & speaks about issues on social media (Internal) and outside of it (external).
@mackryprof Governor Phil Murphy's active presence on social media definitely shows digital leadership qualities. I agree that his use of posting resources, effective information, and news is vital, as the public is gaining critical information that benefits them.
@alykor4 Greta Thunberg is an excellent example of leadership and digital presence! she is very active in expressing environmental causes on social media, and the post you used is a great example of this, as she encourages us to take action.
As Rubin (2019) show the 5 competencies areas of leadership, Michelle Obama represent organizational competencies which is "collaboration & empowerment" Below is an example of this as she encourages & gives advice to students who are starting their college journey.#LIDCFall2022
It always means a lot to me to spend time with students and share some of the lessons I’ve learned throughout my life. As so many folks head back to school or college this fall, here’s my advice. #BackToSchool
@Jr1450_ Wow! That picture is disappointing. I still can’t process that there’s people out there with that kind of misogynistic views in this day and age. It’s terrible!
@McCoyDCIM It’s frustrating that women are dealing with sexual attacks within the game world. Women are not invading mens space in gaming, it’s sad that there’s people with this mentality to this day, especially with all the years of equal space- social movements.
@mgh2022sands This is a great connection! It’s definitely challenging the power women gained and the conversations from #metoo it’s frustrating that women are facing sexual and sexist attacks in the game industry.
Based on module 10, #EverydaySexism connects with the concept of #Gamergate because it deals with the sexism that women experience on a daily basis. This movement has women sharing their stores of sexist experiences across the world. While, gamergate is…(1/3)
…an, “ online movement ostensibly dedicated to reforming ethics in video games journalism. In practice is is characterized by viciously sexual and sexist attacks in women in and around gaming communities.” ( Braithwaite, 2016, pg. 1)
@LingruiY This is a great example Lingrui! I was very shocked of the high amount of misinformation that was produced regarding Covid! I agree that because people never experienced this particular strain & event before,
people were highly vulnerable to believing any information produced.
@MikeStamatis I agree! fake news spreads way faster when it’s prompted by people with power, this is often seen in politics and political news channels! And people are more vulnerable to believing them.
@Jr1450_ Funny vid! & you’re absolutely right! these companies are making enormous money off of users. Also a quote that stuck with me from the documentary is, “if you aren’t paying for a product you are the product” companies are creating manipulating strategies to use users for profit!
Based on module 11, a hashtag that represents ‘Social Dilemma’ is #fakenews. This connects to the arguments made because the social dilemma argues that big tech companies are to blame for the spread of fake news, as they manipulate users by…(1/2) #VirtualE1#RutgersDCIM
@McCoyDCIM Great response! Also this shows the impact social media and hashtags has especially on social issues. #metoo started in 2006, a hashtag that was created years ago is still persistent to this DAY! And just like you said this creates new conversations throughout the years
