Fleur Du Sel : Persephone's Crown
I. The Currents of Forgetfulness
Why did they hide this shore from you—
the Thames’ edge, where dolls sink
into reeds, flotsam of the dead?
You knew the ferryman, the coins,
but not the tidal pull, the silted hush
that swallows names.
II. Descent
I took the hardest door—
dragged down by shadowed hands,
Rohypnol’s blur, a dust they called
Bolivar’s lament, O’Leary’s vein.
My body, taken, worshipped
in caverns beyond love’s light.
Hades stormed my mind,
flaying your name, sealing my eyes
with spectres that gnaw.
III. The Leonids’ Gift
Once, beneath falling stars,
the Leonids stitched our night—
your touch a torch, your form
a universe I cradled.
Trauma erased your face,
left me a stranger to your soul,
your silence a wound rimmed in salt.
IV. Atonement’s Shore
Now, as the Great Procession begins anew,
I see you—two souls beneath
a haloed lamplight, stars falling still.
If you lift that torch,
let it answer the man you were,
not the one who broke me.
Walk with this wound—
begin.
