Me: realizing I actually exist and feeling the full weight of not only survival but the pressure of living my life to its fullest extent
Also me: realizing I’m young and free to do anything I set my mind to and that the world is full of endless joys and possibilities
I’m not *melodramatic* by nature but if I’m having an emotional crisis I expect you to bring me sleepytime tea and single-serving cakes and tell me comforting lies and promise to avenge my foes and tuck me into bed like you would a clumsy but gentle bear.
Sorry for the rant. I just feel like this is one of the biggest breakthroughs I have ever had. I feel like this whole health journey has been a bit like parenting my lizard brain. Instead of giving myself exactly what I want when I want. I think more long term now.
I think that’s the revelation I’ve had. It’s not about trying to fix myself physically. It’s about being kind. It’s about giving yourself a fucking chance and making decisions not to restrict or punish, but to help and nurture your body and your heart.
