I have yet to die so I can’t be quite sure. But it seems to me that the meaning of life is actually to find the things that bring meaning to your life.
If I knew how many second chances I unknowingly got
If I knew how many times I almost died
I wonder, if then, I would be thankful for the second, third…twelfth chances
And if I would do anything with them
So actually the goal is to stay in business, stay in shape…
It was never to launch the brand, go to the gym, write that blog etc.
It is to build the stamina to chase the things you want for long.
It makes setbacks less scary.
It makes starting almost insignificant.
TIL motivation should have a 0% impact on action.
If the goal is truly to get to Z, I must go through A, B, C... No matter if I want to or not. No matter if I’m motivated to or not.
Action always is the only way forward.
Stop comparing yourself to those sprinting when you are running a marathon. It's a different race. It's a different game. Them winning does not mean that you are losing.
Note to self: you’ve accomplished nothing so you can do anything.
Sometimes you get so caught up in looking at the list of things to be that you forget how dangerous you are when you have nothing to lose.
You’ve accomplished nothing so you can do anything.
It doesn’t matter if you hate it or not, it still has to get done.
Once I figured that out hard things became 2x easier.
Sometimes getting over the story we make up is the biggest obstacle.
Every time I forget this life lesson I go through a ton of pain.
I cannot change what’s already happened.
I cannot outthink what is going to happen.
My expectations of what’s to be only add to the pain of what isn't.
Life is smoother with high standards and low expectations.
I truly believe that the most life-changing actions happen when doing nothing and its consequences are so unbearable that you leave yourself no choice but to act and to do so now.
Seemingly randomly, like on a Wednesday at 11:37 am. Not on a Monday. Not on the 1st of the month.
The very first thing I bought on the internet at the age of 16 is this laptop sleeve that says “Carpe That Fucking Diem.”
I couldn’t ask for a better origin story if I tried.
Happiness is a choice.
Just hear me out.
First, let’s get one thing clear, I don’t have to *be* happy to choose happiness.
Not being happy doe not mean being unhappy. Happiness is not an all or nothing state.
