A police force has approached us to collaborate on enhancing their approach to delivering Threat to Life (TTL) notices. These notices are issued when there is credible intelligence about a threat to someone’s life. This specific project focuses on young people and their families or caregivers.
Our goal is to dissect the current process, exploring both the formal procedures and the way critical information is communicated to young people and their families. Together, as a community, we’ll workshop actionable improvements, aiming to contribute to a meaningful transformation in policing practices. These recommendations will then be presented to the Force for further discussion and implementation.
The outcome of our collective efforts will support the police force in delivering TTL notices in a way that is inclusive, contextually appropriate, and compassionate—ultimately benefiting the young people and communities affected by these difficult situations.
At SaferNow, we commend this client for demonstrating courageous leadership in seeking external perspectives to ensure that these critical interactions are handled with care and respect.
I recently commissioned the wonderful @_LucyCavell to design some training for @SaferNowCYP on "Trauma Informed Assessments, Language and Framing."
And let me say, I'd asked Lucy because I knew she would be fantastic, but the content, the depth of her knowledge, and the skill to translate that knowledge into training content STILL BLEW ME AWAY.
If you're looking for really high-quality, nuanced, content design - check out @_LucyCavell.
I could not recommend Lucy's work highly enough.
Wow. Just wow.
I feel rather emotional after our first #communityofpractice held this morning. A wide array of likeminded professionals from a variety of settings sharing their wonderful practice in relation to #safetyplanning for #extrafamilial harm.
Amazing group, people wanting it to be longer, lovely feedback. Could not feel more privileged to have been able to offer such a space to such great people.
I love what I do (most of the time 😂)
@ItsEmilyKaty My mum questioned my CAHMS psychiatrist about the possibility of me being autistic when I was 13 - she was flat out told no. I bounced between dozens of diagnoses - cyclothymia, bipolar, BPD, OCD, GAD...then was diagnosed as autistic when I was 21.
@ItsEmilyKaty This thread has hit me really hard, and has helped to reinforce that I am not alone in my experience (on one hand I'm soothed that I'm not the only one to have gone through this, but on the other I am devastated at the thought that a single other person had to go through it).
🎉 It's giveaway time! 🎉

We are thrilled to have guest speaker Sean Monaghan from Safer Now talking all things #contextualsafeguarding and #safetyplanning
Today is my first day back at work after a relatively stress free holiday break. Very excited to get back stuck in with @SaferNowCYP and can't wait to share everything the team has been working on!
I am thrilled that so much goodness is happening right now.
Our Wraparound Service offer is the current main focus, with numerous organisations and agencies on the journey with us, starting it, or enquiring about it. Worksforces full to the brim with staff wanting to do the best they can, acknowledging that this requires additional expertise and support. These workforces are we're working with are led by brave leaders willing to put transparency, budget, trust and confidence in @SaferNowCYP and what we offer.
Really exciting times.
Also, what a wonderful catch-up I had with @NatWorGroup and their wonderful leads today. The tank can regularly run pretty low when running your own organisation from home, but such meetings with like-minded individuals certainly fills it right back up.
And to others setting up, or running their own orgs, always feel free to reach out - a good natter goes a long way👍👍👍
ALSO - we've new staff coming onboard soon - you can see our site for their bios now!

On days where things are a bit more difficult, I'm learning to find the good. The things to be thankful for.
Today I'm thankful for my mom being my mom.
Today, I didn't know where to put the oxy powder in the washing machine and instead of going to Google, my first instinct was to ring my mom.
Grateful, 5 years after moving out, to still be able to call my mom up at any time of day for advice.

@CaraLisette@autismwestmids Only now at almost 26 years old am I starting to live a fulfilling life after receiving the help and therapies that I actually needed.
@CaraLisette Educate more on the presentation of autism in girls.
I was 13 when my mum first asked my CAHMS psychologist if it was possible that I was autistic. She flat out said no without much thought or time behind her answer.
I was formally diagnosed at age 21 through @autismwestmids
