I had this same complaint at first, but just keep using it; eventually caching takes place, and you'd spend less per request

And the part that infuriates me the most is that the effort you put into understanding other people doesn't seem to be reciprocated when you're the one who needs understanding.

You can see why they behaved the way they did. You understand their upbringing, the circumstances that pushed them into acting that way.
But you can also see how they hurt you, why your own reaction makes sense, and how your response might have hurt them in return.
It gets heavy
