This is me during my Shell Recruitment Day in November 2011.
1hr after the whole day group interview, I got the phone call I can never forget, “Congratulations, they all loved you. When can you start?”
If you have an upcoming group interview where they put a bunch of you together in a room and give you a task to work on together, then sit up.
I will tell you my secrets.
I don’t need them anymore and it can help you land your dream job.
They are what I used during my SRD.
I have given the same playbook to many mentees who used them to land their dream jobs in various companies.
So, trust me, this works.
A 🧵
I just went through the comments and quotes on Oladepo Caleb Okugbenga's post. He credited NELFUND for supporting him in becoming the Best Graduating Student of LAUTECH, but the dishonesty in some replies is alarming.
You can criticize the Tinubu government for many things, some of it valid, but when it comes to NELFUND, let us be honest. It is a lifesaver.
I am a 500-level medical student at UI. I have been on NELFUND for three consecutive years. They recently paid my school fees and the fees of thousands of UI students this session. That is not a rumor. That is real. NELFUND currently supports students with full academic fee payment sent directly to the school and a monthly upkeep allowance of twenty thousand naira paid directly to the student.
Now let me address the common lies people spread.
Some say it is a loan, so it is not helpful. Yes, it is a loan, but it is interest-free. Tell me one loan app in Nigeria that gives you zero interest.
Others say the repayment is a burden. But repayment only starts after you have graduated, finished NYSC, and found a job. If you are unemployed, you pay nothing. If you lose your job, the payments stop automatically. That is not a burden. That is safety.
Some people claim NELFUND has no impact on students. That is simply false. I am an admin in a group helping students apply successfully. Many higher institutions and scholarship bodies now advise students to take advantage of this loan so they can use their own money for other needs that bring financial stability.
Another lie is that the government made education expensive just to introduce the loan. Federal schools are still highly subsidized. We all know what our mates in private schools pay per session, millions of naira. Our fees, even after adjustments, are a fraction of that.
Most of the people throwing shade at NELFUND are not even in school anymore. They have no idea how the scheme operates today.
Let me be clear. I am not saying we should stop scrutinizing government spending. We absolutely should. But when a good initiative works, we must have the maturity to acknowledge it. NELFUND is keeping real students in school. That is a fact.
Let us not allow dishonesty to rob others of this opportunity.

Dear @Zlatan_Ibile
I’ve attached photos of me conducting free French tutorials at the University of Ibadan over the past 4–5 years. I’m confident in my ability to handle basic French lessons effectively if given the opportunity.
Thank you for your consideration.
Few months ago, I made a conscious decision to stop buying bread because I noticed that breads don't go bad anymore. At first my wife was against it, then I asked her a simple question, when was the last time you saw a bread go bad?
When we were younger, breads don't last 3 days. moulds will grow on them after few days, but these days you can keep a bread for weeks and it will still look fresh.
Now, when my kids crave for bread, I buy banana, floor, sugar and maybe few ingredients and make banana bread at home for them.
Its the easiest thing anyone can make. The process is so easy. You can get guide on YouTube.
I don't intend to keep feeding my family with preservatives that may have adverse effect on their health in the long run.
A girl of 11 years now can see her period. A boy of 9 years is already growing pubic hairs. A young man of 25 years has high blood pressure. These were all things we never experienced in our time.
Some girls didn't see their periods in Junior secondary school in our time, some of us didn;t grow pubic hair till senior secondary school, I, myself didn't grow beards till after secondary school.
But not today, kids are robbed of their innocent childhood and no one knows exactly where all these are coming from.
I have decided to cut off a lot of processed food for my kids, they will eat as much organic foods as possible. Same goes to what they drink.
No disclaimer to any idiot that will come and tell me this bread looks like his or her brand. Me and you will sue each other till one person leaves this earth, stupid bread bullies.

Oladélé, this is the logical next step from the conversation we had yesterday. If you still remember, I argued about how we subconsciously shrink God to fit our finite human clock. Today, your question shows how we shrink God to fit human utility.
The question of "what is their purpose" assumes that the universe is centered around human beings. We subconsciously think that if humans cannot live on a planet, build houses on it, or use its resources, then it is a waste of space. However, the universe was not created to be a human terrarium. It is theocentric. That is, it is centered around the Creator, not us as humans.
To make it even clearer, think about it like this. A great king does not build a big palace because he intends to sleep in every single room. He builds it to reflect the scale of his power, his majesty, his wealth, and his sovereignty.
If we apply this analogy to an infinite Creator, what does that tells you? It means that if God only created one tiny rock called Earth suspended in an empty void, it would not reflect infinite majesty.
The terrifying vastness of space, the billions of galaxies, the brightness of stars, and the countless planets are there to force the human mind to look up and realize how incredibly small we are, and how immensely powerful He is.
As a Muslim, I am forced to reflect how the Almighty God in the Quran addresses our human arrogance directly. In Surah Ghafir 40:57, Allah states that the creation of the heavens and the earth is far greater than the creation of mankind, but most people do not know.
If we reflect on this, we would see that we are just a fraction of the story. The rest of the cosmos is fulfilling its own purpose and glorifying Him in ways we do not comprehend.
Having said that, even on a purely physical and mechanical level, those other planets in our solar system serve a direct purpose for our survival.
Take Jupiter and Saturn for specifics. Those huge gas giants act as cosmic shields. Their immense gravity pulls in comets and rogue asteroids that would have otherwise struck Earth and wiped out life long ago. They are standing guard in the dark so you can live down here.
God did not create anything as a meaningless accessory. Every single rock floating in the dark has a purpose. We are just too focused on ourselves to see the broader architecture.
Allah knows best.
Allah has 99 Names.
He used 98 of them throughout the Qur’an to describe His attributes
But one Name appears only once in the entire Qur’an.
And it is the strongest weapon against anxiety ever revealed.
