Now more than ever we need massive investment in our mental health arm of healthcare.Insurances and NHIF need to include a package for psychiatric and psychotherapy reviews.
There’s an 8 year old boy we’ve admitted for an attempt suicide by hanging,claims he was watching a movie and his favorite actor was killed and decided to die with him.The boy alipanda juu ya mti na kamba,true to it there are some neck lacerations.Spending time with him I could tell he is intelligent but withdrawn with blunt affect.Doesn’t want to talk much about the family,at that age.These are his neck lacerations from the rope tied around then neck.
We need a hell lot of awareness bana.
