@adhiiiambo hi joyyy!
there are startups trying to innovate in this area and would love to speak to you!
Can you DM? ( iโm not able to message you for some reason)
I dislike the fact that you can't express your displeasure of the public transport operations in the country without being told to get your own car. That same rhetoric is carried everywhere else by Kenyans. "If it's too bad, just find ways for it to not affect you"
Bad governance shrinks our lives. It makes us stupid, and short (see: malnutrition). Bad governance deprives us of the full spectrum of love. It turns us into involuntary introverts. It robs us of our kindness, as we now hesitate to check on friends fearing we might get billed.
On tech: โbuilding an AI startupโ in Africa is not an economically equivalent form of participation in the AI revolution. We do not have the energy nor the engineering/computational capacity to meaningfully compete upstream. We are often at best just middlemen and consumers.
Hurts me to say this: Africa will not be saved by entrepreneurship. We cannot vibecode ourselves into the 4th industrial revolution. We still need to industrialize. To achieve this, we need stronger and better public institutions. We need extremely competent leaders at the helm.
