@JCTecklenburg This is off the top of my head and haven’t tested, but.. could you try auto-trace to make a mask on your layer. Add a fill effect and set it to the mask. Then, use mask expansion to grow the edge?

@Arcane_Motion I haven’t found a real reason why Ae sometimes chooses to not use all available ram. Sometimes a reboot fixes it.

You might have already tried, but I often “~” the render queue window/panel and turn on capslock and it speeds up!
