@publoescobar02 It's been a good run saee'n. We had our moments together, in crowds, but never had the chance to sit alone over chai and talk. I wish we had. Wishing you God's hand for everything ahead of you. Godspeed braadar.
I get a lot of messages from well wishers here to tone it down/remain neutral, otherwise it is not good for 'career'.
Firstly, I don't know why is there even this silly expectation out of academics or those with public voice to remain neutral in the face of oppression and violence when neutrality is the most political of all the positions.
I spent 10 years doing BA, MPhil and PhD in Political Science, and another 10 years deep in the policy space, not to publish about present horrors as journal articles 25 years from now but to be able to recognise the patterns of oppression today and call them out. I owe it to my profession and to the people.
As for the 'career'; if my ability to speak truth to power is bad for my career, I really don't have a career worth saving.
To be able to pick a side in times like these is probably the greatest thing one could do both, personally and professionally.
@MHuzaifaNizam Somehow, being just a year or two ahead of someone grants people the self-proclaimed right to be sadistic and go, "hamare saath hua, tumhary sath bhi hoga", till the same fragile senior goes down the food chain to his senior and finds out that fear, anxiety and depression exists.

The dilemma is, the deeper I go through medical college, the less familiar it becomes. I don't recognise this place, the faces anymore.
First day of fourth year, and it doesn't feel like home anymore.

I haven't seen a wider range of emotions and such dark depth in a 25 pg short story before.
Khoobsoorat !
