🧵 2023 marks 100 years since the introduction of the Chinese Immigration Act, better known as the Chinese Exclusion Act. Over 17,000 Chinese labourers came to our nation in the mid-nineteenth century, to assist in the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway despite the associated dangers and safety concerns.

But once construction was complete, the government set a number of measures to stop the flow of immigrants from China to Canada, including a head tax. #YEG

1) start/join a nonprofit that you’ll commit to for life

2) create a website domain for said NPO then signup “google for nonprofits”

3) use “google takeout transfer” to migrate emails and files directly to your new google account

4) setup email forwarding 🫡
