Someone said "The whole thing happening around Claude „best“ practises by „gurus“ is a modern times cult beliefs thinking they are cutting-edge tech"
They’re right. Half these people are one step away from sacrificing a prompt to the Claude gods for better output..
New Anthropic research: Emotion concepts and their function in a large language model.
All LLMs sometimes act like they have emotions. But why? We found internal representations of emotion concepts that can drive Claude’s behavior, sometimes in surprising ways.
@emollick The only thing keeping me from completely switching from ChatGPT/Claude to Gemini is this .. they have all the means necessary to have this feature and I hope it's just a matter of time. cc @joshwoodward@OfficialLoganK
We seriously need to stop confusing "generating code" with "coding."
AI mimics patterns, but it lacks the intentionality and soul that humans bring to engineering.
The worst part is seeing juniors convinced they are "crushing it" because the AI output compiled.
You are robbing yourself of the opportunity to solve hard problems and learn the basics.
AI manipulation techniques revealed.
For our free newsletter this week, we cover temporal hacking: AI systems that game human attention over months.
@IrenaCronin and I write this newsletter every week.
Temporal hacking describes AI systems that optimize for long term outcomes by subtly shaping users’ habits, emotions, and beliefs over weeks or months through sequences of personalized interactions.
This creates powerful commercial and political incentives but poses serious risks to autonomy, mental health, and democracy, demanding new safeguards, transparency, and defensive tools.

Movies are great though. Even if you set aside the pure artistic enjoyment (you shouldn’t). Movies are stories, and stories are powerful, primal, moving, motivating. They are prompts to you to consider dilemmas and scenarios, to build your world model and compass. My rec is to go to the golden age of story telling and movie making that imo ramped up in the 80s, was roaring in 90s, peaked early 00s, and declined since. One sourcing example: pick a random year there, look up Oscar winners, pick and watch. Enjoy and attend guilt free.
How many more model releases do we need for folks to realize we are not getting to magical superintelligence with what we got?
How many times do you have to see a model benchmaxxing to realize Humanity's Last Exam is a freaking idiotic name and that answering questions on it doesn't tell us shit about the true intelligence of the model?
How many models do we have to see demonstrating superficial intelligence but utterly failing at long running, contextual understanding for people to wake up and realize that AI is just another tool?
A good tool, a useful tool, a wonderful tool but not magic and not the end of all jobs and not the end of humanity or any other absurd fantasy of fools and dreamers.
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Literally never trust this guy - as far as i can tell, all the big providers already have the model IN HAND, and were ready to start serving it. A 1T parameter model that matches opus at coding was opensourced today and the world hasnt ended, he does nothing but lie. Also Elon you aint much better on this front, release grok3 now like you promised you would too.
Why are American companies so bad at keeping promises, and so good at hyping things that arent to be? Meanwhile the chinese labs just plop the largest most powerful models right on our doorstep without a second thought and push forward opensource for everyone practically weekly now. American big labs, do better or stfu and stop making promises you wont keep.
