Its been awhile since I found some inspiration and more importantly time/energy to do any creative side project. But recently found some inspiration to dive deeper into more traditional roguelikes and proc gen stuff. Starting this thread so I donโt give up on it :)
@KatDoes3D I recommend a combination of making small games, game jams and study of the theory (lots of great books and videos out there). We are in a day where knowledge is not the barrier anymore. Even a simple deep query from an Llm will give you a ton of great starting points. Good luck!
@Drututt I believe in our teams capability of getting the balance right over time. Things that push the boundaries and are truly exciting for players will sometimes come out not perfectly balanced. It is the price of innovation that we need to accept imo :)
@truffle@ClaudeCode Haha coolโฆ.would love to read a breakdown if you ever get to it. Havenโt dove into skills too much. Mostly been using it for things like shaders, refactoring algorithms/code etc. Iโve found if your game data is text based, it is pretty good at parsing/extending it.
@DannyLimanseta Highly recommend Godot too. Found it works very well with Claude due to the language being pretty easy to parse and being open source works well for it too!
