Henrymu bylo osmnáct. Šel domů z pařby s kamarády. Vickrum Digwa ho pětkrát bodnul nožem. Tam přitom už běžný člověk nesmí nosit ani pepřový sprej, natož nůže a policajti chodí bez zbraně. Ale Digwa měl velký nůž a tvrdil, že ho nosí kvůli víře, ano, to je tam běžné. Přeci ctíme tradice. Tradice těch, co přišli odjinud.

Když Henry ležel na zemi a krvácel, Digwa mu nepomohl. Natáčel ho na mobil. Pak se přidala jeho rodina. Bratr volal na policejní linku a tvrdil, že tam žádná zbraň nebyla. Matka mezitím přišla a nůž odnesla. A Digwa hrál před policií oběť. Prý ho napadli, ukazuje že prý má odřené obočí. A oni mu uvěřili. Prý byl Henry rasista. A pak policajt říká tomu klukovi, co říká, že byl pobobán: "To si nemyslím, kámo." A poslední slova, která pro něj policie, která ho spoutala na zemi, i když jim čtyřikrát řekl, že je pobodaný a devětkrát, že nemůže dýchat:

"Jsi zatčen. Máš právo nevypovídat, všechno co řekneš může být použito proti tobě."

Ano, tomu klukovi, co umíral a říkal, že nemůže dýchat, nasadili pouta. A vrahovi nabídli podporu. Než došlo policajtům, co se opravdu stalo, bylo už mrtvý. U soudu to nakonec prasklo. Celé to byla lež a Henry nikomu nic rasistického neřekl. Matku vraha odsoudili za krytí zločinu. Jenže ne, tímhle to nekončí. Protože tohle je systémový problém, problém desetiletí výchovy k falešné empatii, zvrácené korektnosti a zdánlivé laskavosti, která ale není jen sebevražedná. Je vražedná.

Henryho neuctíme minutou ticha. Uctíme ho tím, že o tom nebudeme mlčet a že budeme odmítat rasismus ve všech jeho formách, ale hlavně v té, která je pro nás nejnebezečnější: rasismus proti vlastním lidem.
