the odyssey was a fine movie but its politics were a bit iffy. wouldve been way better if at the end the odysseus turned to the camera and said "im a mythic hero of an unbroken western tradition that extends till trumps america" & then specified he's a proto judeo-christian.
Football is funny.
He flopped at Norwich, went on loan to Twente and scored 3 goals in 14 games.
Went back to Norwich after relegation to the Championship and only managed 1 goal in 13 games.
Then he went on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga... and exploded.
24 goals + 8 assists in just 37 games. That form earned him a move to Club Brugge in July 2024.
Since then: 33 goals + 32 assists in 74 league games for Brugge.
All that being said... I hope he flops again 😂
George Orwell worried that a shrinking vocabulary would eventually produce a shrinking range of thought.
It is difficult to think a nuanced thought with a blunt language.
The Odyssey isn't historically accurate because it's not historical. It's a work of fiction. I don't understand how people can't grasp this very simple idea.
Christopher Nolan says The Odyssey is ultimately about the idea that a society can only function through respect for strangers. He believes that, despite 3,000 years passing since Homer, that fundamental truth about human nature hasn’t changed.
Early thoughts out the cinema.
This is probably one of my favorite Nolan films. The cinematography, to the score, the action, EVERYTHING
The cast is phenomenal, everyone fits their role and does it incredibly well
Incredible film. 10/10.

The Odyssey is the worst movie ever made. It's propaganda to demoralize you. It's a humiliation ritual.
What? No of course I haven't seen it. You just have to take my word for it.
