30 years ago, the Bland family sold 87 acres of farmland to the Texas Parks and Recreation Foundation for $10 with one stipulation in the deed: the land must be turned into a public park in Williamson County.
Last year, the city of Taylor, Texas, sold that land to the data center developer Blueprint for $10 million. The Bland family's dream of creating a community hub will be erased for a 135,000-square-foot data center complex.
From Blueprint's $1 billion data center project, Taylor is projected to generate $30 million in tax revenue over the next decade.
Despite public protests, Taylor, Texas, said on its website that there was no way to deny construction of the data centers.

Every Avenger assembles in December. Except one. Here is the full story.
Trade reports just confirmed something that will divide the entire MCU fanbase.
Tom Holland's Spider-Man is intentionally absent from Avengers Doomsday.
Marvel made this decision deliberately not because of scheduling. Not because of Sony. Because of the story.
Brand New Day ends with a multiversal event that leaves Peter Parker trapped. Unable to reach Earth-616. Unable to join the Avengers when Doom invades.
Marvel Studios is intentionally sidelining Holland's Peter Parker during Doom's initial conquest to keep the focus on a Phase Zero reset saving Spider-Man's massive reality-shattering return for Avengers Secret Wars in December 2027.
Think about what that actually means.
Steve Rogers is back. Wolverine opens the film. The X-Men. The Fantastic Four. Every hero from every corner of the MCU.
And Peter Parker the most beloved Spider-Man in history watches it all happen from wherever Brand New Day leaves him.
Marvel isn't punishing Spider-Man.
They are setting up the greatest MCU return since Tony Stark walked out of that cave.
December 2027. Secret Wars.

I'm told Texas Tech would consider legal action if athletic programs and/or conferences try to exclude them from competition or hinder their scheduling.
The NCAA ruled Texas Tech permanently ineligible. Texas Tech appealed and the NCAA uphold their decision. Sorsby is still ineligible.
Texas Tech is a member of the NCAA.
It doesn’t matter what a judge says. The NCAA has every right to punish Tech. Don’t let this story go away.
So James Talarico had multiple normal, consensual relationships with attractive women who worked in politics?
Meanwhile Ken Paxton had multiple affairs with women outside his marriage and used his office to get jobs/contracts for them.
🚨 This May Be One Of The Most Remarkable Things Trump Has Said About Iran Yet.
According to Trump, the United States has been secretly taking “millions of barrels of oil” from Iran.
Then he added:
“Iran just found out.”
For months, Americans have been told the goal was deterrence, diplomacy, and regional stability.
Now comes a statement suggesting something very different. Because if the United States has been covertly seizing Iranian oil on that scale, that raises a lot of questions the administration is going to have to answer.

First time I went 52 or 53 and 30 something with playoffs. Second time 69-13 with dynasty. Only miss was Nash in the 90s but was too nervous to reroll decade for Luka. Strictly only doing IQ version so no stat info., just the dome and vibes.
Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) faked a phone call for roughly 90 seconds after being asked about Speaker Mike Johnson’s comments regarding potential Social Security cuts.
The phone's screen remained visible, with his cheek inadvertently tapping different parts of the display.
Aaron Donald is “more likely than not” to unretire soon and sign with the Rams on a 1-year deal to join Myles Garrett, per @AdamSchefter.
Los Angeles will now have the two greatest defensive linemen of the modern era alongside each other.
ALERT: Texas small town police chief who made arrests over multiple community journalists' Facebook posts about water quality to resign.
Trinidad Police Chief Charles Gregory resigned effective June 19th, following a string of arrests and lawsuits.
Henderson County resident Jennifer Combs was charged with felony false alarm after posting on Facebook that the city's water had sent several people to the hospital, along with pictures and videos of the brown water coming from her sink.
Gregory alleged that Combs post "creates fear, panic, or unnecessary emergency response within a community."
A jury declined to indict Combs, and she has since filed a lawsuit against the city.
2 former Trinidad Water Clerks, Colby Reyes and Alex Estrada, filed a lawsuit stating they were fired without cause.
Reyes says in the lawsuit that she was fired because she "refused to lie" on behalf of Gregory and City Administrator Cynthia Dosier.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality says it has received complaints about the water quality, and an investigation into the water is ongoing.
