@calculus_codes My man Calculus, you've done well for yourself though despite not studying maths as a course.
I think we need more awareness about some of these courses though. A child that has never seen a successful or the relevance of theoretical physicists would rarely consider studying it
One day, I bowed my head and said, "God, if you do this for me, I will come back with an offering." And God did.
2024 has been a good year. Cheers to 2025! To every Nigerian vet preparing to take this leap of faith next year, I celebrate you in advance. 🥂🥂
@Eddybush5@olumuyiwaayo It depends on what you want to study for your masters and a consideration of how vet programme run differently in other countries. However you are eligible for so many scholarships like Commonwealth, Chevening, MasterCard and Erasmus mundus depending on your interesting
@StevenSalzberg1 I think this is a case of implicit bias, assuming only "native speakers" are capable of a certain level of fluency&articulate expression. This is almost like the bias where reviewers send most papers from LMICs back with the comments to "get a native speaker to edit the grammar"
Gbenga Adeboye would recite the Bible in flawless English and Yoruba, recite the Quran in flawless Arabic and still back it up with Ifa wisdom like he was a senior member of the occult.
He was HIM.
“Nigerians are not worth fighting for.” I hear that every now and then, and I’ve always disbelieved it.
Yesterday, you proved me right. You all are the reason my detention by @HQNigerianArmy lasted ‘only’ three days. I’m a free man today because of your social media engagements with #FreeFisayoNow and the publications/broadcasts by the traditional media. And I can prove it.
After my arrest at about 2am on Wednesday, I was grilled by different levels of the Army until deep into the night. I didn’t return to my cell until at least 11pm on Wednesday. My case was then forwarded to a superior office that was to interrogate me on Thursday.
Surprisingly, Thursday was uneventful; from morning until night, this office never sent for me. I soon learnt the Army would take “as long as it wanted” to conduct their “investigation” just to establish that I was indeed an investigative journalist.
To my utmost surprise, on Friday morning, at about 11am or thereabouts, I was retrieved from my cell for transfer to the Military Intelligence Brigade (MIB). It was during the transfer that someone who ran into me asked to know my name, after which they said: “You’re the one; you’re in the news.”
Without your pressure, I’d still be in that cell by now, away from civilisation and held incommunicado. So, yes, my freedom is your freedom. This victory exists because of you, you and you. Thank you!
@OurFavOnlineDoc The idea of money rituals might have been twisted by Nollywood but it doesn't change the fact that some mysteries are beyond our scientific rationalisation
It'd be survivorship bias if you assume that because you've never met someone who did it that it's not real for that reason
It was a honour sharing this moment with you guys.

Night clubs, beer parlours and even strip clubs are always full every day of the week but night vigil is the problem and the one people need to substitute for night shifts.
And before you come up with the commercial aspect of the aforementioned, review Maslow's hierarchy of needs
A disturbing video of malnourished children being arraigned before a Federal High Court on the orders of the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government has been brought to my notice.
The horrible scene reminiscent of a Nazi concentration camp once again reflects the low premium the current government places on the lives of the vulnerable, especially children.
For emphasis, Section 11 of the Child’s Rights Act guarantees dignity of the child.
It states that, “Every child is entitled to respect for the dignity of his person, and accordingly, no child shall be ‐ (a) subjected to physical, mental or emotional injury, abuse, neglect or maltreatment, including sexual abuse; (b) subjected to torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”
The children are being prosecuted for their alleged role in the #EndBadGovernance protests, which took place between August 1 and August 10, 2024. If they are just being arraigned three months later, one can only imagine the sort of dehumanizing conditions they had been subjected to and have been detained all this while.
I find it reprehensible that a man who claims to have fought for Nigeria’s democracy and had led protests now demonises those who decide to demonstrate against the effects of his harsh and draconian policies.
Children who are the most affected by these policies have every right to protest peacefully, as guaranteed by the Constitution and the Child Rights Act. A nation can be assessed by the way it treats its most vulnerable citizens. It is saddening that even underage children are not spared from the wickedness of T Pain.
The disturbing condition under which the alleged accused children were brought to court projects the very justification for their participation in the protest in the first place. -AA
