When I was an educator at a Leader in Me school, the concept of the ‘Circle of Control’ was introduced to me, & it stuck ever since. In tough situations, I always remind myself ‘Circle of Control’—my actions, my attitude, and my responses. Powerful mindset shift.

@teacher2teacher Relationship building is my strength, as an educator and a leader. I get to know my staff and my students. I get them to see my passion for education & how much I care for them. Once I build their trust & help them feel safe then we can learn & grow.
@teacher2teacher Use a buzzer. When the buzzer goes off that means the Ss break up into their challenge teams & they get a H.O.T. question. Variety of points are given to all teams based on answers. They never know when the buzzer will go off.
Kagan Day 2 for UPCA! We had such a great time learning how to engage students and adding to our teacher toolbox. I mean look at these amazing educators fully engaged and participating. So proud of these Comets! @UnionPrkAcademy@KristenLand3@SaraCapwell@CSUSAhq
@teacher2teacher Leadership! Leadership sets the culture for the school. They model what they want their school culture to be. They start building positivity by building relationships. Get to know the staff and let them know your purpose.
When students say, “I can't do math,” change their mindset. You can do anything with hard work, even math! Developing that growth mindset increases engagement and the ability to overcome obstacles.
@teachergoals What if you are on time every day but you have someone else who is constantly late? Others have to pitch in to help but that person is not held accountable. Would you let that get to you?
