Strongly condemn Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters, unarmed civilian vessels carrying vital humanitarian aid to Gaza. Such intimidation is unacceptable and must not be tolerated. Targeting a humanitarian convoy carrying relief to a population deprived of freedom and basic necessities is a grave affront to humanity and international law.
Through its repeated disregard for human dignity, showing neither mercy nor compassion, Israel has further isolated itself from the rest of the world.
We call on the international community to take decisive actions against Israel's gross and repeated violations of international law, which go far beyond the moral compass shared by humanity.
The Maldives stands in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their just struggle for human right, justice, peace and security.
Had productive discussions with HE President Tharman Shanmugaratnam @Tharman_S and HE Prime Minister Lawrence Wong @LawrenceWongST of Singapore today. We reflected on current levels of engagements and agreed to new potential areas that can be tapped into.
Encouraging to see our cooperation strengthen further with the signing of key MoUs between the Maldives and Singapore in technical capacity-building through study visits, higher education and vocational training, and environment and sustainability.
I am confident the MoUs signed today will further deepen our partnership and deliver tangible benefits to both our people.

We can never justify extra judicial killing of anyone, irrespective of the circumstances. Our religion Islam does not permit it. If this is the official stand of MDP, I am horrified. This wasn’t the MDP I know that stood for people’s basic rights including the right to life.
