Our fruitful official talks have laid a strong foundation for the future, reaffirming our shared commitment to expanding cooperation in key areas, including trade and investment, education and healthcare, tourism and sustainable development, Islamic affairs, and defence cooperation.

I am extremely grateful for your decision to consider extending a short-term currency swap facility of USD 100 million through our central banks. I am also pleased that the Government of Malaysia has agreed in principle to commence negotiations on a Preferential Trade Agreement, important steps that will further strengthen our economic partnership and create new opportunities for our peoples and businesses.

I also sincerely appreciate the timely message of support and encouragement you kindly sent for the PNC National Congress.

Your visit has opened a dynamic new chapter in the enduring bonds of friendship between the Maldives and Malaysia. I am confident that the brotherhood between our two nations will continue to reach new heights, for the mutual benefit and prosperity of our peoples.

މަގުމައްޗާއި އުސް އިމާރާތްތަކުގައި ހިނގާ މިފަދަ ކުއްލި ނުރައްކާތެރި އެކްސިޑެންޓްތަކާމެދު ޢާއްމު ހޭލުންތެރިކަން އިތުރުކުރުމަކީ މުޅި މުޖްތަމަޢު ގުޅިގެން ކުރަން ޖެހިފައިވާ ޤައުމީ އަދި އިންސާނީ މަސައްކަތެއް. ވަކިން ޚާއްޞަކޮށް އުސް އިމާރާތްތަކުގެ ކުޑަދޮރު، ބެލްކަނި، ރެއިލިންގ ފަދަ ތަންތަނުގެ ސަލާމަތީ ކަންކަން ކަށަވަރުކުރުން މުހިންމު. ނަފްސާނީ އަދި ނުކުޅެދުންތެރިކަން ހުންނަ ފަރާތްތަކާއި ތުއްތު ކުދިން ބެލެހެއްޓުމުގައި، އެފަދަ މީހުންނާއި ކުދިން އުޅޭ ގޭގެގައި އިމާރާތްތައް ބަލަހައްޓާ ފަރާތްތަކާއި ޢާއިލާތައް ގުޅިގެން ޒިންމާދާރު ފިޔަވަޅުތަކެއް އަޅަން ޖެހޭ.

ސަރުކާރާއި ކުންފުނިތަކާއި މަދަނީ ޖަމުޢިއްޔާތަކާއި އަދި އެންމެހައި ފަރުދުން ގުޅިގެން، ޚާއްޞަ އިސްކަމެއް ދީގެން، މަގުމައްޗާއި އިމާރާތްތަކުގެ ސަލާމަތް ޔަޤީންކޮށް، ހޭލުންތެރިކަން އިތުރުކުރުމުގެ ޕުރޮގްުރާމުތައް، ވަރަށް ރަނގަޅަށް އިންތިޒާމުކުރެވިގެން ކުރިއަށް ގެންގޮސްދެއްވުމަށް އަޅުގަނޑު އިލްތިމާސްކުރަން.

ޤައުމީ ދުވަހުގެ އިރު ފެނުން ތޮޅިލާއިރު، އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ހަނދާންތައް ދަތުރުކުރަނީ މީގެ 467 އަހަރު ކުރީގެ މާޒީއަށް. ކަނޑުގެބާޒުގެ ނަމުން އޭރު މަޝްހޫރުވި ފުރެތިކާލުންގެ އިސްތިޢުމާރީ ކަސްތޮޅުތަކުން ލިބުނު އަނިޔާއިން މި ދީބު މިންޖުކޮށްދެއްވި ހިތްވަރުގަދަ ބަޠަލުންގެ އަގުހުރި ޖިހާދުގެ ކާމިޔާބަށް.

ބޭރުގެ ބާރުތަކުގެ މުށުތެރެއަށް ރާއްޖެ ދިޔަ ކޮންމެ ފަހަރަކުމެ ފެންނާން އޮތް ހަގީގަތަކީ، ދިވެހި ޤައުމަށް ހެޔޮ ނޭދޭ އަމިއްލައެދުން ބޮޑު ބަޔެއްގެ ޚިޔާނާތް އެކަމުގެ ސަބަބަކަށް ވީކަން. މިއަދު އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ގަދައަޅަައި ޢަޒުމު އާކުރަންވީ އެފަދަ ހިތި ތަޖުރިބާތަކެއް އިޢާދަވިޔަ ނުދިނުމަށް.

މި ޤައުމުގެ ސިޔާދަތާއި މިނިވަންކަމާއި އަމިއްލަވަންތަކަން ނަގަހައްޓައި، ޤައުމާއި ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ނިކަމެތިކަމެއް ލިބިދާނެ ފިތުނަފަސާދަތަކަށް ހުރަސްއަޅާ ބަޔަކަށް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ވަމާތޯ؟

މި ފަޚުރުވެރި ޤަައުމީ ދުވަހުގެ މުބާރަކްބާދު ދިވެހި އުޚުއްވަތްތެރި ރައްޔިތުންނަށް އަޅުގަނޑު ދަންނަވަނީ، އެންމެ ފުރަތަމަ ޤައުމު އިސްކުރުމުގެ ޝިޢާރު ނަގަހައްޓައި، މި ޤައުމުގެ ކޮންމެ ދަރިއެއްގެ ހިތުގައިވެސް ދިވެހި ޤައުމިއްޔަތުގެ ވިންދާއި ރޫޙު ހިފެހެއްޓުމަށް ގޮވައިލަމުން.

With nearly 45% of our population being youth, their hopes and aspirations are central to our future. This Administration is committed to continuing creating more opportunities for higher education, skills development and meaningful employment. Furthermore, initiatives such as the National Apprenticeship Programme and National Service Programme strengthen pathways from education to employment.

සාර්ථක රාජ්‍ය සංචාරයක් නිම කරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙන් පිටත්ව යන මේ අවස්ථාවේදී, මාලදිවයින සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකාව අතර පවතින සමීප හා දිගුකාලීන සබඳතා තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට නව අධිෂ්ඨානයක් සමඟ මම පිටත්ව යමි.

මට, මගේ බිරිඳට සහ මගේ දූත පිරිසට ලබාදුන් උණුසුම් ආගන්තුක සත්කාරය සහ මිත්‍රත්වය වෙනුවෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජයටත්, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජනතාවටත් මාගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තුතිය පුදකරමි.

අතිගරු ඔබතුමා සහ අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය සමඟ විවිධ කරුණු පිළිබඳව පැවැත්වූ ඵලදායී සාකච්ඡා මට මහත් උනන්දුවක් හා විශ්වාසයක් ලබාදී ඇත. අපගේ දෙරටේ ජනතාවගේ අන්‍යෝන්‍ය ප්‍රතිලාභය සහ සමෘද්ධිය වෙනුවෙන්, අපගේ පොදු කැපවීම් අර්ථවත් ප්‍රතිඵල බවට පත් කිරීමට එක්ව කටයුතු කිරීමට මම බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමි.

මාලදිවයින්–ශ්‍රී ලංකා මිත්‍රත්වය දිගුකල් වැජඹේවා. ස්තුතියි ශ්‍රී ලංකා.

As we observe the World Press Freedom Day, we recognise its significance in appreciating the individuals and organisations that uphold press freedom and protect the right to information. Today and always, the Government remains committed to supporting a free and independent media, which plays a vital role in democratic governance, sustainable development, and the promotion of peace at home and beyond.

The Government continues to strengthen an enabling environment for journalism by investing in media, expanding access to information, and promoting open public dialogue. These collective efforts are vital to building public trust and deepening citizen engagement, while reinforcing transparency and accountability.

We commend media professionals for their professionalism, courage, and dedication to serving the public interest with integrity, and call on all journalists to exercise this freedom responsibly through accurate, impartial, and ethical reporting that informs and serves the public.
