A billionaire Chinese national, Liu Dian Bo, bought 34 Australian hospitals in 2015 for $900 million. They have 8000 beds. Now that the country needs them most, the billionaire is shutting them down. His company wants more money from the government. https://t.co/q9yJS0vSwl
That was our march on Mar 1 to protest communism and Xi’s visit to Japan as a state guest.
HKers, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Mongolians & many Japanese joined the march.
Can you see the flags?
We will join the march by 10,000ppl on Mar 8.
Xi’s visit needs to be cancelled not postponed‼️
[Number of arrested protestors are now more than the number of prisoners in HK]
1/ I am disappointed that the DoJ just sent a misleading and irresponsible message to the public, as international media and HKers have witnessed how police selectively enforced law in past 6 months.
1/ Arrested on August 30, my phone was seized by #hkpolice. The phone can only be unlocked with passwords. Before court resumed yesterday, I have NEVER provided any passwords to #police, nor received any notice nor warrant for a search of my mobile device.
This money was raised to support the legal fees of those facing political prosecution, crowdfunded by Hong Kongers.
The freezing of these assets is appalling, and sets a dreadful precedent in one of the world's major financial centres.
When #HongKongers tighten their belts to donate to Spark Alliance to help arrested #hongkongprotesters, #hkpolice has just frozen their money and framed as money laundering. It's the prelude to further crackdowns on #HKprotests, just like what #CCP did on civil society in #China.
She wrote, “I am exhausted too, but I don’t want to give up.”
Worse than physical exhaustion is the mental weariness caused by the sustained fear of arrest, forced “suicide”, beatings, sexual assault. But the worst is witnessing comrades disappear without vindication... #SOSHK
Great meeting with @nathanlawkc this week in DC. His bravery, along with his Hong Kong brothers and sisters fighting for their human rights and autonomy, is inspiring.
I will continue to #StandWithHongKong against Communist China!
The citizens of Hong Kong face yet another round of health problems as a consequence of their government’s use of tear gas against them. One big problem begets another. May the force be with this beautiful city! #StandWithHongKong https://t.co/DDxSBUqieh
