I wish the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade was more about the balloons, floats, bands, and less about awful "celebrities" lip syncing along with stupid dance routines. Not to mention the feed is mostly insufferable commercial breaks.
@ggreenwald@ElieNYC That war has already been playing out for awhile in SoCal/Los Angeles politics.
I'm tired of identity politics, demographics, and divisiveness.
Maybe the Democrats should try to a have a free and fair primary election to determine their next presidential nominee: one that extends beyond just Barack Obama Nancy Pelosi, Reid Hoffman and Alex Soros.
I believe that @realDonaldTrump will win in a decisive victory and potentially a landslide Electoral College outcome tomorrow. I could of course be totally wrong, but that helps elevate an important point.
Approximately half the country will be unhappy about the election outcome, potentially devastatingly so. In this context, I think it is important to remember that we are one country, and we will survive whoever is our next president.
What we must avoid, however, is a world where our fellow citizens who are disappointed raise hell or otherwise revolt about the outcome. The peaceful transfer of power is a critical feature of our democracy that must be maintained for us to succeed.
The system is stronger than any one candidate. We will thrive long term no matter the outcome of this election because the system will heal itself. Thatβs been a feature of our democracy for nearly 250 years and I expect it to continue.
Letβs therefore be civil and accept the collective will of our democratic process. We have many enemies that want internecine battles in America to weaken us. We cannot let this happen. The world is a dangerous place and we need to be unified to protect our country and our children.
@UpTheRep@deathcab@Peoples_Pundit I waited until Saturday to vote. We're all mail in. This ballot was just so laborious and depressing. Rank choice voting has led to a total clown show. Multnomah County (Portland) is extremely low returns for the day before. They are boarding up windows all over town. π
@UpTheRep I was once told to wheesht in Scotland. After I figured out what the hell it meant, I had a lot more to say to the male ahole.
Just one of those shocking culture shock moments you don't see coming. Not really a common language or common culture....
If America cared about democracy and voter turn out it would end the discriminatory and undemocratic electoral college.
Electors choose the president, not our ballots.
Neither party cares about democracy or voters. They only care about power.
The Portland ballot was so laborious and depressing. 22 mostly joker candidates for 3 City council spots with 6 rank choice votes. Plenty to vote against with little to nothing to vote for. Presidentially insignificant = low turnout. https://t.co/HsXwQx6tDB
Dear unethical politicians, if your campaign uses my phone to harass me then YOU LOSE MY VOTE. It's rapey and nobody wants to be contacted on their phone (call or text). My heart goes out to all those in the few states that actually matter. This is not right, it's evil.
@nypost please inform your writer, Kendall DuPre, That "Once Upon a Time in America" was about Jewish gangsters in NYC. The western was "Once Upon a Time in the West". Accuracy please! https://t.co/bRzahKxoQt
@UpTheRep@HeidiL_RN Getting stomped into the ground like the pathetic appointed token she is, might be worth it... if it ends this ridiculous age of affirmative action (that's DEI for the young the ignorant). I would like to see democracy and meritocracy restored. DNC keeps doubling-down. π
I just watched the press conference. @DNC I can not vote for Biden, do you hear me? I just can't. It's elder abuse. I won't vote for Trump.
Exactly, how crazy is Bobby Kennedy these days? I can't believe I'm even open to the possibility, but here we are.
@UpTheRep@RepJeffries Alright, I have missed you. But, I still don't like Twitter.
I just need to blow off some steam about the insanity we are living through.
