The big losers in this deal though are experienced teachers in small districts. New teachers will get big raises while the others will get pennies on the dollar. Without the tax base of big districts, these schools can't offer proportional raises for experienced teachers. 12/
Arkansans want elected officials to be honest brokers (even when there’s disagreement).
Deception (intentionally or not) just doesn’t sit right.
Good folks like Superintendent Jordan Frizzell courageously correct the record so that we can operate in truth. Thank you @JFrizzell!
Rex Nelson's Southern-frying of the pomposity of our Arkansas-comes-last excuse for a governor continues with Part 3. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the bipartisan support from such a credible pure Arkie. https://t.co/MbSAJbgILa
Must read article by Baker Kurrus, former LRSD Superintendent, where he lays out what the LEARNS bill really means and how it will impact small to mid-size towns in Arkansas.
Take action, it doesn’t have to be this way.

This “LEARNS” bill has real issues.
-It’s rushed
-It’s flawed
-It’s not sustainable
-It’s bad for communities and students
-It deeps existing problems
Why not slow down, focus on the 60-70% that everyone agrees is needed, then fix or trash the poison (the other 30-40%)?
The outcry from teachers in Arkansas today is about teachers being fed up with feeling like we never have a voice. We are tired of big government forcing mandate after mandate, policy change after policy change, and only playing lip service to teachers in classrooms. 1/
Teachers deserve a raise RIGHT NOW! A bonus is not a raise. Stay focused on and keep fighting for what you deserve. Today’s vote was a choice to do the LEAST possible and hope you will go away. Stay focused.

One of our math teachers left to take an admin position for this coming school year. We had a hard time finding a replacement. There is no way we can compete with other occupations unless the pay becomes more competitive. #payARteachers@lbengilmore@HBEATYJR
As a die-hard fan of college football, it’s frustrating to watch some of these games being taken out of the player’s hands because of officiating. #AuburnVsArkansas
