Support decentralization. Run a #DigiByte node. Mine $DGB. Build on DigiByte. Transact P2P. Hold your own keys.
A fairer, open-source future is #blockchain powered.
I've seen dozens of CEX's fail since 2012. It will take years to get your crypto back, if you get it back at all.
Withdraw your $DGB $BTC & crypto from Binance right now for your own safety!
The world finally woke up to the Binance deception.
Not your keys, not your crypto!
DigiByte is one of the longest-running U.S born blockchains older than many L1s like Solana, Avalanche, or Algorand. It was built in the US by @jaredctate and has been running continuously for 11+ years, making it one of the most decentralized and battle-tested L1i in existence.
🚀 Wallet Wednesday: $DGB implements Dandelion++, a protocol-level privacy layer that hides TX origins by routing them through random “stem” hops before broadcast (“fluff”).
Breaks timing & topology leaks — true P2P network-layer anonymity. 🌼

Absolutely wild! 🤯 The future is here with EagleEye. Keep up the good work @PalmerLuckey@anduriltech. Great interview @ShawnRyan762. Scary stuff though.
I thought @DaveHcontrarian was nuts the first time I heard him call for $4400 gold this cycle... now here we are.
Good call sir. Your macro predictions have been better than anyone else I have followed the last few years:
🖥️ Today is Full Node Friday— Become A Direct Part of The Blockchain!
Run a full node for your favorite blockchain! $DGB $BTC $LTC $DOGE $DASH $RVN $ZEC $XMR
If it’s not **direct peer-to-peer (P2P)** over **TCP/IP**, it’s **not truly decentralized.** 🌐
That’s what makes *full nodes* so important. Let’s break it down 👇
---
### 💡 What Is a Full Node?
A **full node** is a computer running the complete blockchain software implementation — every block, every transaction, every rule, verified independently.
It doesn’t rely on websites, APIs, or middlemen.
It connects *directly* to other nodes across the world over **TCP/IP**, the foundational protocol of the Internet.
A full node:
✅ Stores a full copy of the blockchain history
✅ Verifies new transactions and blocks in real time
✅ Relays them across the network peer-to-peer
✅ Enforces the consensus rules — without asking permission
That’s how a blockchain stays honest, decentralized, and censorship-resistant.
---
### 🧠 Where Full Nodes Live
A full node doesn’t live behind a website, a login, or a domain name.
It lives **outside** the centralized DNS and HTTP layers — the parts of the Internet controlled by corporations and governments.
Instead, nodes communicate directly across the raw Internet backbone — **P2P over TCP/IP** — the same open protocol the entire Internet was built on.
No logins.
No passwords.
No “Terms of Service.”
Just pure peer-to-peer freedom.
---
### ⚡ Why It Matters
So much of today’s “crypto” isn’t really decentralized.
If you have to log in to a web app, or connect your wallet through a domain, or trust an API — you’re not using a blockchain. You’re using a centralized platform *on top* of one.
True blockchains like ** $BTC, $DGB, $LTC, $DOGE, and $DASH** run on **real nodes**, speaking directly to each other, enforcing the rules in real time — without middlemen.
That’s the original design. That’s what Satoshi built. That’s what keeps the system free.
---
### 🚀 How to Join the DGB Network
Running your own full node is easier than ever:
1️⃣ Download **DigiByte Core v8.26** → https://t.co/KPam3iKKWV
2️⃣ Install it on your computer or server
3️⃣ Let it sync the full blockchain history
4️⃣ Keep it online to help verify and relay transactions globally
Every new node strengthens decentralization. Every connection expands the peer-to-peer web.
---
### 💙 The Message
A full node isn’t just software — it’s sovereignty.
It’s your vote in the consensus.
It’s your voice in the network.
When you run one, you’re not just watching crypto happen — **you’re making it happen.**
Run a node.
Verify the chain.
Be the network.

This is an excellent question about encrypting P2P $DGB & $BTC traffic over TCP/IP!!! 👏
Short answer: Yes — the groundwork for encrypted P2P traffic now exists in DGB v8.26 Taproot!
Bitcoin Core 26.0 introduced v2 transport (BIP324), an experimental protocol that encrypts node-to-node communication.
DigiByte v8.26 inherited this upgrade from upstream $BTC, but it’s turned off by default for now till further testing.
You can manually enable it with the -v2transport flag, and it will automatically negotiate encryption with other peers that support it, but not many do right now other than our test clients.
In simple terms:
Right now, all P2P blockchain $DGB traffic (blocks, transactions, gossip) is sent in plain text.
v2 adds a secure handshake + encryption layer — so ISPs, firewalls, or attackers can’t snoop on or fingerprint DigiByte or Bitcoin node activity.
Think of it as “HTTPS for the blockchain’s P2P layer.”
Technically:
BIP324 replaces the old “v1” plaintext transport with an encrypted, authenticated channel using Ephemeral ECDH key exchange (X25519) and ChaCha20-Poly1305 for symmetric encryption. It hides message patterns, prevents passive surveillance, and makes P2P networks more censorship-resistant.
It’s off by default to preserve compatibility with older nodes while testing and auditing continues — but over time, as more nodes adopt it, v2 will become the new default, bringing privacy and resilience at the blockchain transport layer itself.
In short:
v1 = plaintext TCP
v2 = encrypted TCP (BIP324)
DigiByte’s already ahead of the curve — it’s built in, just waiting to be turned on after further testing. ⚡
