Korean Archery team selection is so ruthless that they didn't even send An San, Tokyo Olympic's gold medalist in all 3 events, for Paris Olympics after she did poor in a domestic competition.

And it is not like An San is too old now. She is just 23. She even won 1 Gold and 1 Silver in Asian Games last year.

Imagine a selection process where a reigning 3 times Olympic Champion is told that she is not good enough at the age of 23.

Making into their Olympic Archery squad itself is so tough that by the time they reach the actual event, they have already gone through trial by fire and mentally toughened enough to take on anyone.
