🚨#BREAKING: For the first time, the ROTC students at Old Dominion University, who BEAT THE TERR*RIST TO DEATH WITHOUT GUNS are now telling their stories.
"He sho*ts a stray, it hits me, but I thought I could keep going... I get there and just start st*bbing him, as I'm st*bbing him, other cadets jump in and we all were in a pile just holding him down."
ABSOLUTE HEROES!!!!!!
The Cadets from Old Dominion University who stopped an active shooter, received 8 Meritorious Service Medals. Two of them received Purple Hearts…from the Sergeant Major of the Army and the Secretary of the Army.
Absolutely amazing and well deserved.
'LIFE OF SERVICE': The Old Dominion University community is mourning Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, the dedicated ROTC leader killed in a heartbreaking classroom shooting.
A "devoted ROTC instructor," Shah is being remembered for a lifetime of leadership and his commitment to preparing the next generation of American heroes.
"Lt. Col. Shah didn’t just lead a life of service to our country, he taught and led others to follow that path."
In a statement issued by the U.S. Army Cadet Command, it was confirmed the victims were members of the university’s ROTC program.
“We are deeply saddened from the active shooter incident that occurred at Old Dominion University on March 12, 2026. We can confirm that two members of the university ROTC program were shot and were taken to a local hospital to treat their injuries.”

U.S. Forces Unleash Massive Strike Against ISIS in Syria
TAMPA, Fla. – U.S. forces have commenced a large-scale strike against ISIS infrastructure and weapons sites in Syria. This massive strike follows the attack on U.S. and partner forces in Syria on Dec. 13.
We will provide additional information soon.
A U.S. Servicemember writes the names of the two soldiers with the Iowa National Guard who were killed in last week’s ISIS-affiliated attack in Central Syria; Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres Tovar, 25, and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, along with a brief message, on a munition used in tonight’s large-scale strike operation against ISIS in Syria.
Our entire National Guard family mourns the loss of Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres Tovar, 25, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, of Marshalltown, Iowa-the Iowa Army National Guard Soldiers who were ambushed and killed in Syria. Their mission was in support of ongoing counter-ISIS / counter-terrorism operations in the region.
Our hearts are with their families, loved ones and the Iowa National Guard during this time of profound sorrow. We honor their courage and sacrifice, and we will never forget them or their service.
We are also thinking of and praying for the families of the civilian interpreter who was killed, and the three other Guardsmen who were wounded. May God place his healing hand upon them.
Please join me in praying for the two National Guardsmen who were just shot moments ago in Washington D.C.
@DHSgov is working with local law enforcement to gather more information.
