🔴 West Bank: On 23 September, Israeli forces demolished the homes of 91 people in Jinba, Masafer Yatta, Palestine. They destroyed 12 homes, including one belonging to an MSF community health worker, plus water tanks and animal shelters. This is the third mass demolition in Masafer Yatta this month.
“They didn't even warn us - they just came and demolished everything. One soldier told them, ‘demolish it completely, I don't want to find anything left.’ But whatever they do, we will stay here and try by any means to rebuild our home.” - MSF community health worker.
As part of our rapid response interventions, we donated mattresses, blankets and other items for people in Jinba whose homes were destroyed. It’s our fifth response this month for demolitions, all in south Hebron hills and Masafer Yatta.
We have seen demolitions by Israeli forces affect 69 families in the last 6 months alone, and these numbers keep rising. Israeli authorities must stop demolitions, forcible transfer and all measures that force Palestinians from their homes.
On 23 September, an Israeli airstrike hit close to our clinic in Khan Younis, Gaza, Palestine. Fadi Husam, nursing team supervisor, was at the clinic, where he worked with his team to stabilise injured people.
“Yesterday morning, there was a huge Israeli airstrike very close to our clinic in Khan Younis, 10 people who were injured came to our emergency department where our team all stepped in to support in the response. Among them was a 32-year-old man in critical condition, with multiple shrapnel wounds to his face and neck, as well as other injuries. A seven-year-old child also arrived with multiple shrapnel wounds caused by the force of the explosion.
“We all felt scared when we heard the sound of explosions, we all have families who live close to the site of the explosion, and we were worried about them. But as a medical team, the patient comes first and we provided the best care for all cases. Over the course of an hour, we stabilised all of the patients and referred them to Nasser hospital for further treatment.
“We were glad we managed to treat the people who were injured yesterday, but every healthcare facility in Gaza is overwhelmed because of the Israeli restrictions on supplies. We are short of even the most basic medicines and equipment, such as gauze, and at any moment generators can break down because of the lack of engine oil and spare parts. We desperately need to see more medical and logistic supplies enter Gaza.”

In my kitchen there is a jar of honey gifted to me by Phil Rosenberg, the President of the Board of Deputies, who insisted I take it home for my family, along with a bag of apples, because it would not be a proper new year otherwise.
So let me begin the simple way: Shana tova u'metuka. A good and sweet new year to every Jewish family in Britain.
The custom of dipping an apple in honey is one of the most hopeful things I know. It is not a claim that the year gone by was sweet. It is a decision that the year ahead should be.
And I know that the year behind us has been anything but.
Two Jewish men, Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby both of blessed memory, were murdered at the gates of Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in an antisemitic terror attack on Yom Kippur, defending their synagogue and those praying inside it. As Mayor of Greater Manchester, I felt first-hand the anxiety that attack caused across the Jewish community. The sorrow and fear of that day have not disappeared.
As Yom Kippur approaches once again, I know many people will remember them and reflect on what that attack meant. So, this message has to be more than a greeting for the chaggim. It has to contain a commitment.
Jewish people must be able to live, worship, go to school, attend synagogue and participate fully in British life without fear.
That is why we are investing more than £250 million to increase policing, improve community safety and tackle rising antisemitism, bringing total government investment in Jewish security to almost £310 million.
In recent days, the Housing Secretary and I have heard directly from Jewish community leaders about the challenges they face and the anxiety many families are experiencing as the High Holy Days approach.
That is why we have established a Cabinet committee on antisemitism, bringing departments together to ensure our response is coordinated, comprehensive and sustained.
But security is only one part of the response. We have to tackle antisemitism at its source.
We are also investing £7 million to tackle antisemitism in schools, colleges and universities, including support for Jewish students, staff training and action to address misinformation and promote respectful discussion. And we are expanding the Common Ground programme to support communities facing the greatest risk of antisemitism and help local leaders respond when tensions rise.
British Jews have helped build the schools, charities, businesses and institutions that make our country stronger. From the NHS and education to the arts, innovation and entrepreneurship, their contribution has enriched every part of our national life. The contribution the Jewish community makes to British life is remarkable- and we should celebrate it.
This new year, my commitment is simple: to work every day to ensure that Jewish people are safe, valued and able to live their lives free from fear.
May the year ahead be sweet, and may it be safe. Shana tova.
An American Air Force officer was shot down over Iran. Wounded and alone, with the enemy closing in, he spent 50 hours trying to survive as he waited for a rescue. For the first time, he tells his story. This Sunday on 60 Minutes.
This picture should make everyone feel physically sick. 🥹
Every single tree in Borneo is habitat for THOUSANDS of species.
You cant understand how biodiverse tropical rainforests are until you’ve visited. 🌳🦧🦋
Literally a million animals to zero when it’s burnt for palm oil!😭
They really don't want us back.
As people are released after taking nonviolent action yesterday, we're witnessing the draconian bail conditions @metpoliceuk are imposing on them.
Some people are being banned from communicating with their codefendants. Some are banned from the city of Westminster, which is a clear interference with the democratic right to speak to your MP in Parliament.
Multiple people had their train tickets, senior railcards and oyster cards confiscated, before being released between 3-5am with no means of communication or way home.
Why? One custody officer told an arrestee they didn't know, only that the orders "came from on high".
This approach is disgraceful. When we take nonviolent action, we expect to be arrested. But this response shows how rattled the government are - they'd rather silence people than take meaningful action to save billions of lives.

All that crap about Keir Starmer being about public service
He wanted power for its own sake. That's it.
He was only interested in climbing the ladder of power.
The ladder collapsed under the weight of his own cynicism, so now he's off to try and find another ladder.
The NHS found Cocaine, Alcohol, Sleeping Pills and 8 other substances in Dawn Sturgess' blood.
They found no novichok.
Only Porton Down "found" novichok.
The perfume bottle was "found" by police on the kitchen counter after 11 days of searching a small flat.
You are still buying it?
The Golders Green ambulance arson was a false flag. The Muslim teenagers recruited to carry it out were not ideological and were doing it for cash. Recruited online - they didn't see by whom.
HAYI is an Israeli false flag vehicle that first appeared in multiple Israeli ministry press releases then was promoted by Foundation for Defending Democracy, a hasbara front.
The attribution to a "pro-Iranian Telegram channel" is a purely zionist narrative.
HAYI is supposed to be Iranian but the group's documentation produced by the Israelis was not in Farsi but in (bad) Arabic, English and Hebrew.
"HAYI" activities have consisted solely of low level arson attacks in Europe that happily don't hurt anybody.
False flag.
BREAKING: Trump has just designated Palestine Action a terrorist group.
As a Palestinian and Iraqi, the fact the country which destroyed both my homelands is calling me a terrorist, is beyond hypocritical.
Trump is the antithesis to everything Palestine Action stands for.
I received warm congratulations for the people of Ukraine from Prime Minister @netanyahu of Israel. Our countries share deep bonds – between our people in the first place, but also in the economy, culture, and other areas. It is therefore good to hear of Israel’s desire to strengthen these existing ties. We count on working fruitfully together to bring about more security.
Israel has said that paper kites flown by Palestinian children will be treated as weapons of war.
Read that again.
This is the reality of genocide: the total destruction of innocence, freedom and joy.
End all military cooperation with Israel, now.
