MBBS interns of J&K are paid a mere Rs12300 per month which is the lowest among all Indian states and UTs. Long night shifts, 36 hr duties and heavy patient load further aggravate the situation. It's high time for the J&K Govt to raise the stipend.

Vande Mataram is an ode to a goddess. It cannot be treated on par with the national anthem. Jana Gana Mana celebrates India and its people, not a particular religion. Religion ≠ nation. The man who wrote Vande Mataram was sympathetic to the British Raj and despised Muslims. Netaji Bose, Gandhi, Nehru, and Tagore all rejected it.

The Preamble to the Constitution of India begins with “We, the People” — not “Bharat Maa”. It promises “liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship”. The very first provision of the Constitution, Article 1, describes “India, that is Bharat” as a Union of States.

In the Constituent Assembly, some members wanted the Preamble to begin in the name of a goddess; they specifically invoked Vande Mataram. Others wanted it to begin “In the name of God” and to replace “its citizens” with “her citizens”. All these amendments were defeated.

India, that is Bharat, is its people. The nation is not a goddess; it does not run in the name of a god or goddess, and it does not belong to one god or goddess.

STATEMENT

The recent decision of the Government to create five new districts in Ladakh—raising the total from two to seven—appears less an administrative reform and more a calculated attempt to fragment the unified democratic and statehood movement of the people of Ladakh, particularly the collective voice of both Buddhists and Muslims.
While we acknowledge that regions such as Drass and Zanskar from Kargil region have long-standing demands for district status and we welcome their inclusion, the overall approach adopted by the Government raises serious concerns. The process has clearly ignored regional sensitivities, demographic realities, and principles of equitable representation.
As per the 2011 Census, Ladakh has a population of 2,74,289, of which approximately 46.40% are Muslims and 39.65% are Buddhists. However, the current reorganization results in five Buddhist-majority districts and only two Muslim-majority districts. This disproportionate distribution reflects a deeply skewed and discriminatory approach, undermining the spirit of fairness and inclusivity. Such actions risk deepening divisions and evoke troubling parallels with communal lines of division that history has shown to be dangerous.
We strongly oppose this arbitrary and insensitive restructuring. In particular, we reiterate the genuine and long-pending demand for granting district status to Sankoo-Suru and Shakar Chiktan. The people of these regions have repeatedly submitted memorandums to the Government, presenting justified and well-founded demands, yet they have been consistently ignored.
We stand in full solidarity with the people of Sankoo-Suru and Shakar Chiktan, and reaffirm our unwavering support for their rightful aspirations. Ladakh’s strength lies in its unity and diversity—any attempt to divide its people along communal or regional lines must be resisted firmly.

The govt has created 5 new districts in Ladakh. There are now 7 instead of 2 districts. The govt wants to divide the unified statehood movement of Buddhists and Muslims.

This is another gerrymandering in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir

As per the 2011 Census, Ladakh has 46.40% Muslims and 39.65% Buddhist population out of the total population of 274289.

Out of the 7 districts, 5 are Buddhist majority, only 2 are Muslim. Basically 5 districts for 39.65% population and only 2 districts for 46.40% population

The Main Reason Of the bjp candidates opposing the ruling party that they should answer whom they voted for is just to make chaos among the people to weaken the Party. @JKNC_ appointed the rajya sabha agents to make sure that their candidates should vote for their own candidate.

All the parties in the valley are weakened and as of now only the ruling party stands still and to weaken the ruling party the RTI discloses the Agents which were appointed during the Rajya Sabha Voting just yo creat the confusion among the people of Jammu & Kashmir
