In 2022 most books I read were historical fiction/fiction. Few of the authors I loved reading were @ShashiTharoor, @RutaSepetys,Daniel Keyes, @lakhnauaa, @GhoshAmitav,Manav Kaul, @SalimAnees, Raza Mir.
Thank you all for giving us those worlds to live in. https://t.co/lLUZouptie
@tavishi_jatrele Reminds me of the time I went to a parlour to get my eyebrows shaped, and the lady asked me “Aapki eyebrows Hain?”, and I being in a funny mood then said, “aapki bhi hain vaise” 😂
Your ears go numb, your heart starts to palpate, and your eyes start to well up with tears, by merely listening to the horrors of her last few minutes. The culprits deserve the strictest of punishment ever and that too in fast trial mode. #kolkatahorror
@thevirdas puts things in just the right words, with just the right intent. We are immeasurably proud of you @Phogat_Vinesh. आप से हम जैसी सभी महिलाओं को असीम शक्ति मिलती है। ईश्वर आपको सेहत, शक्ति एवं समृद्धि प्रदान करे।
Dear @Phogat_Vinesh I cannot imagine how disappointed you must feel. All one can say an Indian, as an admirer, you have won something that cannot be measured in gold silver or bronze. It lasts longer than metal. It is a legacy for athletes of all fields, a display of true patriotism that goes beyond mere thumping of chests to real sweat on a mat, a place on the right side of history for young women and men who will remember you for your humanity as much as your athleticism. Infinitely proud of you 🙏🇮🇳
@RichaChadha @ArjunChopra_8 You are so amazing Richa. Have been listening to your and Ali Fazal’s interviews lately. A power couple who have an immense power of personality, wit and knowledge.
The Topper Who Tamed The Trolls | #PrachiNigam is your typical girl, full of laughter, quick quips, except that she is also a state topper! When some trolls on the internet decided to attack her for her facial hair, she fought back.@journo_harshit reports: https://t.co/TOt8mXcYW3
The Prachi ad released by the @BombayShavingCo is a wake up call to the advertising and marketing industry.
The sheer insensitivity of the company which continues to defend the act comes from an extreme sense of power and privilege, where the victim - Prachi - is reduced to a body part, facial hair.
I went through the case, and also heard Prachi's video reaction. Prachi is far more powerful that 1000 Bombay Shaving Companies put together.
Prachi represents the young, new India which does not cling to inherited privilege to move up in the world. She puts in her own effort to make a mark.
Her father is a UP police constable. A daughter topping Class 10 is probably the biggest thing that happened in their lives.
The BS Co founder Shantanu Deshpande 's father was a successful IT executive in the USA and Shantanu went to the best schools, then IIM, and then McKinsey. He got pretty much what he wanted, in life.
Do you understand what I am saying? It's P for Privilege.
Finally - and this really amazed me - Prachi has no negative feelings for those who invaded her privacy and wronged her so deeply. On the contrary, she shows compassion - a compassion that can only come from a beautiful person.
Now that's called Indian culture. But don't take this culture for granted, please.
Let's unite to push back these privileged people with inherited, borrowed power: India is changing and you have to behave. We welcome your contributions, but never forget the country is bigger than your personal ambitions.
This note is addressed to the marketing fraternity. Thank you for reading.
