A laborer working on a site near a hospital in Pune came to the hospital with his pregnant wife in an emergency. Dr. Ganesh Khairi examined the woman and said, "I have to perform a cesarean section immediately to save the mother and child." For a moment, the laborer thought he would be stuck with a huge expense, but with no other option, he allowed the doctor to perform the operation.

The operation was successful, and a daughter was born. The laborer's biggest question was how to pay the bill. When the laborer met Dr. Ganesh and asked how much the bill would be, Dr. Ganesh smiled and said, "I don't charge for the birth of a daughter." The laborer was astonished.

The doctor clarified, "Every daughter is an incarnation of Lakshmi. How can money be taken during Lakshmi's incarnation?" When I was studying, my mother told me that when God sends a daughter into this world, to help her and her family in every possible way. Obeying my mother's orders, I don't take any money at the time of my daughter's birth."

The laborer immediately fell at Dr. Ganesh's feet and said, "You are truly a manifestation of God." It's been a decade since Dr. Ganesh opened his hospital. In ten years, nearly 1,000 daughters have been born at his hospital, and not a single penny has been charged to the parents of any daughter.

Today, when the BJP government in West Bengal has declared an additional holiday to celebrating Syama Prasad Mookherjee's birthday and obviously to raise him high on the pedestal, we may recall a letter that he wrote on 26th of July 1942. This was in his capacity as Finance Minister in the Fazlul Haq cabinet that ruled Bengal in 1942.
British India was in the midst of the Second World War and Mookerjee told the Governor Herbert of Bengal that “…preserving internal order is essential because Japanese forces are advancing in Asia and Bengal faces serious military risks".
He said he "anticipates that the Indian National Congress may launch a nationwide agitation (this was written about two weeks before the Quit India resolution of 8 August 1942).
“So anybody, (including the Congress) who during the war, plans to stir up mass feeling, resulting in internal disturbances or insecurity, must be resisted by any Government that may function for the time being.”
He insisted that "any movement producing widespread disorder during wartime would endanger Bengal, so the administration of the province should be carried on in such a manner that despite the best efforts of the Congress, this movement will fail to take root in the province.”
He contends that responsible provincial ministers should persuade the public that constitutional government (that is, the British Imperial Government) already provides Indians with meaningful participation in administration and therefore revolutionary agitation is unnecessary, because “the freedom for which the Congress has started the movement already belongs to the representatives of the people.”
So, according to Syama Prasad, "there was no need for Independence from British Rule." He had no qualms in remaining out of the Freedom Struggle and ingratiating himself with British Imperial Rule, but he went ahead to justify British Rule. It is for people of India to consider whether this was betrayal of Mother India when she was in chains!

A Sub-Inspector took a lift from a Truck Driver. After getting down at a Toll Plaza, the Sub-Inspector left in his personal car.

Later, the Driver noticed that ₹20,000 he was carrying had disappeared.

He chased the Sub-Inspector for nearly 10 kilometres and caught him.

The Money was recovered from the Sub-Inspector.

This doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident. Such incidents are happening every day around us by the police. One more case has now come to light.
