looking back, probably overclaiming here. guess there is a huge family of consciousness correlates. might be metaphysical, but this reduction feels too incomplete

Neural dynamics (specifically attractors) are correlated with consciousness.
It also seems like that neural dynamics (specifically attractors) are the ONLY thing correlated with consciousness.

But, we do not understand the mechanism behind this.

If the explanation is physical we get physicalism.
If the explanation is non physical we get dualism.

So the gap in understanding consciousness is metaphysical.

In the ASI we think of, why does it naturally have the desire to survive and take over the world, when we see that's a biological imperative (evolution)? why would it also apply to artificial life- at least at the inception of it?
