First day of NEET Leak Fast Track Tribunal today & CBI’s counsel who is supposed to prosecute accused never showed up. And we are supposed to believe this govt is serious about education reform? What a joke!
"Main bahut bolta hoon, sir": India discovers Md Irfan, a 35-year-old slum dweller suffering from depression, whose words from #JantarMantar protest site stuns the internet, with a smile that hides the pain of an entire generation

This is the same Mohammad Irfan...
whose emotional video of him reading the Preamble at Jantar Mantar went viral.
This is Mohammad Irfan's home, where he lives.
A dilapidated, shattered home... but from this very home, he speaks of uniting the nation.
Holding the Preamble of the Constitution close to his heart, he speaks of individual dignity.
Citizens like these are the protectors of democracy.
Thank you Irfan.
SCANDALOUS . An RAF personnel fired 7 rounds from a pellet gun in the Connaught Place area. 5 rounds hit unarmed student protestors. So what was the intent of @narendramodi govt? Why were unarmed student protestors targeted with semi-lethal weapons that could have possibly taken lives?? @AmitShah will need to make a FULL STATEMENT TODAY in Parliament.
SHOCKER. RAF chief ADMITS use of pellet guns and electric shock weapons on unarmed young students. UNACCEPTABLE. @AmitShah must answer in Parliament. https://t.co/hJr5TR0w7E
#JantarMantar
DO WATCH: If this won’t make you tear up, nothing will. Yes, there is a ‘new’ India that is SHINING but there is an India that is ANGRY and ANXIOUS too. Listen to their voices too. Well done @TheLallantop for giving a voice and a face to Mohammad Irfan. Salute the young man 👍🇮🇳

🚨 URGENT ATTENTION: INTENSE HARASSMENT OF PROTEST SUPPORT VOLUNTEER
After giving the false assurances to @Wangchuk66, Modi government asked the UP Police to raid the home of Junaid Bhai, a key volunteer providing food & water to student protestors at Jantar Mantar.
💥 His father was detained last night.
💥 His minor brother is being harassed.
💥 Aadhaar cards & bank passbooks confiscated.
💥 Today police reached his sister's residence in Meerut and attested her in laws.
💥 Threat given: "Leave the Delhi protest or face consequences."
Targeting families to silence peaceful protestors is pure intimidation. SPREAD THE WORD! 🚨
This is utterly appalling. Even in the days of the JP Movement leading up to the Emergency, there was no bar by the @UnivofDelhi on students joining any of his protests, and a couple of members of my Union Cabinet at St Stephen’s, including the late Chandan Mitra, openly did so.
If one of India’s foremost public universities is allowed to threaten its students and faculty with significant consequences if they attend a protest, it has a chilling effect on democratic speech and expression. Most DU students are not so privileged as to ignore such a sternly-worded warning without fearing that their academic or professional prospects might suffer if they attended the protest.
A university is meant to teach critical thinking and independent assessment of issues, not to stifle these very qualities. Shame on those at the @UnivofDelhi who saw fit to issue such a tweet. They are unworthy of holding any position at an institution of higher learning in a democracy.
मेट्रो बंद करो।
रास्ते बंद करो।
दुकानें बंद करो।
Internet
This is shocking!
Five Muslim Students returning to Jamia area from Jantar Mantar were detained by the police near @jmiu_official and taken to the police station. Social activist Zeba Khan @zeba_kh_an and the reporter Afzal Alam @afzalalamjmi chased the police vehicle and freed all the Students.
Hello @DelhiPolice, Why were they detained, is it a crime to participate in Jantar Mantar protest?
Why are young Students from the Jamia area being treated like criminals just for participating in the protest?
Did @nsitharaman just say "Due to the paper leak, the children got even more time to study so that they could perform better". …?
Honestly this entire Cabinet should resign.
