88 members of the Irish Defence Forces (Óglaigh na hÉireann) have died in service of the State. While there's no complied Roll of Honour for those who died in service on domestic duties, 1 has died on active service during the Troubles and dozens more during the Emergency.
Respectfully Ministers, can some sort of plan for regular care, upkeep, deep cleaning and maintenance be afforded to our National Memorial?

The National Memorial (An Dún Cuimhneacháin) is the main place of remembrance for our nations military and yet is still in a below standard condition for a place of such importance. It's issues in cleanliness and maintenance have been raised by many. Can action please be taken?
The National Memorial (An Dún Cuimhneacháin) is still in a state of neglect and not a state worthy to those who have died in service while serving in the Defence Forces.
Weeds and rubbish present, slabs replaced with tarmac and existing slabs need a power wash.

The National Memorial (An Dún Cuimhneacháin) to members of the Defence Forces this afternoon.
Weeds growing at the memorial itself and kerbs, multiple stains on the stones around the memorial and a wheel of bike at the flowerbed.

Remembering John Hemingway DFC and all the Irish that served in WW2. Here John recalls the events on 26th August 1940, a day when 11 pilots from his squadron were lost. John is now officially the last of #TheFew.
A special day in Baldonnell today with Gp Capt John 'Paddy' Hemingway the last surviving pilot of of the Battle of Britain visited the Air Corps as a Hurricane fighter and Lancaster bomber visited. He flew Hurricanes in WW2 and was shot down 5 times! He's a proud Irishman too!☘

The protection of undersea cables is rapidly becoming a top security priority for NATO and European countries, is Ireland doing enough?

I am glad to see our new government addressing issues of defence & security. About time too. That does not mean we are about to join NATO. We’re not, but we ought to be better able to defend ourselves in an increasingly volatile world. https://t.co/85xON3GM3e
Former Independent TD @BerryCathal talks about neutrality and it's multifaceted definition on #RTETWIP today.

12 people today discussing Irelands future in defence… 7 women, 5 men. Not one soldier or former member of DF. All that’s missing is a priest for thoughts 💭 & prayers 🙏
A great picture captivating the Irish and British efforts in remembering and honouring the Irish who served and fell in WW1.

Repost if you think he should be. 💪🇮🇪
"There has been speculation that Mr Berry could be a Taoiseach’s nominee to the Upper House because of his defence expertise as a former Army Ranger, amid ongoing security and defence pressures on the Government."
