@ericweinstein Go look into the work of Dr. Beatriz Villarroel. She’s a researcher in astronomy at the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics in Stockholm. She released a recent paper proving numerous anomalous objects in orbit of the Earth prior to the launch of the 1st man-made satellite.

Clarke’s famous maxim, his so called ‘third law’: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” I think people generally don’t take the principle Clarke expresses in that maxim seriously enough. They should.

@buttforager That’s actually very depressing. I love reading as a pleasurable diversion. Can’t imagine not being able to do so. I’m only 30 and didn’t receive a very good education from public schooling (as far as I can determine). Hard to believe that ppl not much younger are illiterate…

@brucefenton @ericweinstein One of @ericweinstein’s main gripes is academia’s various gatekeeping methods, one of which is the “peer review” process. He views it as an institutionally approved way to guard against thinkers who may have good ideas but who don’t align with academic orthodoxies. Ironic post.

@MvonRen Wouldn’t contingency planning for reprisals be possible? They could inform the IG of their fears and get some added protection as well as advice on ways to proactively secure their safety in various ways, look for signs of tampering or trespass in their homes/vehicles, etc.

@TheUfoJoe The theory could be used to argue for the legality of the President’s actions in certain contexts, especially concerning national security and foreign affairs where executive power is typically at its zenith. It’s very murky though if info is being kept from successive Presidents

@TheUfoJoe I think that the program’s legality (or lack there of) would depend largely on interpretations of the so called Unitary Executive Theory. The legality of potential USAPs under the UET would depend on the nature of the program & the specific legal & constitutional arguments made.

They may judge humanity as not being advanced enough culturally/socially to expand outward.

It’s hard to imagine humans being capable of downing such tech.
