@markrazy Sad that so many Timberwolves fans have turned on him. I'll never forget what he did in Minnesota: breaks the 13 year playoff drought then beats top-seeded Houston in the first home playoff game. Happy to ride for Jimmy
Initially @sarahmk125 makes the case for CDC based on data SLAs, but I like that she concludes by emphasizing regardless of SLA concerns CDC is simply the most reliable and scalable way to copy data from an operational database to analytical systems https://t.co/5xF6S2RtPF
In this way, CLP was able to demonstrate a higher compression ratio while enabling faster search performance than other index-based search tools (e.g. Splunk, Elasticsearch)
Given a search phrase, CLP extracts the variable values, constructs the log type and searches the dictionaries. When matches are found CLP returns (and decompresses) only encoded messages that contain the matching parts
@allenholub I understood you were suggesting that you don't see red again and I think red/green/refactor suggests the same. If you're repeatedly writing green to stress that you're running the passing tests as you refactor, to me that is implied
I was fortunate enough to sit in on a trial run of this talk today. Donald stood up a very cool example Python + Spark + AWS Glue data pipeline within a local Docker container and he live TDD-ed throughout. I recommend it if you’ll be at Open Source North this year
@avand@AirbnbEng Devote your time to an idea you are passionate about, build something that solves a problem and work with peers that share that same creative spirit
Very cool looking experience @avand and team created with Awedience. What makes this story even more amazing is the support @AirbnbEng provided them to explore. Awesome! https://t.co/foLpbKORxc
@CFDevelop Unit testing offers validation throughout the development life cycle, before the moving parts are even ready to "behave together" (as you put it). I don't think of duplication/overlap/redundancy in an entirely different testing layer as a bad thing
I wrote a blog post about bitmaps and @Redisinc (with an open source example project/demo). Check it out if you're interested in representing a lot of state in an extremely little amount of space and constant time bit manipulations https://t.co/LgxqZk4rb6
@SpotifyEng@OskarStal I'm specifically referencing timestamp 6:48 - 14:30 of this video. That said, if you have the time and find that section interesting, then I think you'd likely enjoy the entire presentation (I did anyway). Very well done @OskarStal
Awesome explanation of how @SpotifyEng is creating personalized listening experiences in a fast, scalable and repeatable way. Loved the detail @OskarStal provided on the three architectural layers: features, shared models and data https://t.co/eb9pjbVz7w
