Marking 10 years(!) on the Board of IT History Society, after being offered Gideon Gartner's seat. Hard to believe I'm on a team with the co-inventor of RAID, the founder of Atari, the founder of https://t.co/OAfbpYAirc, editor of IEEE Annals, leading authors, financiers, & more!
Brilliant #innovation in this alarm clock at Castle Pena in Sintra, Portugal. It has two parts. On the right side is a sundial. On the left side is a magnifying glass aimed at the fuse of a tiny cannon. Every morning the cannon is armed, and at noon the sunlight ignites the fuse.

@MerriamWebster WOW! I worked on these at my first professional job as a full-time software engineer, back in the late 80s. (At "Proximity", which made the data compression technology for spell-checkers. The company was acquired by "Franklin", where I worked until returning to college in 1990.
@WalkerCupChild@MerriamWebster Amazing for me to see all these pictures, and people sharing memories! In 1989 I took a hiatus from my undergrad to take a full-time position as a software developer at Franklin. Some of my code is in these things...
@kinsmed@MerriamWebster I wrote some of the code in there (no, I wasn't the lead engineer — I was the most junior on team, but it was my first job). So proud to see all these positive comments and memories, so many years later!

@ErvinKalemi@PublerNation Thank you - for the @AppSumo customers like myself, if @PublerNation has the API key then I feel pretty strongly that it’s fair to allow us at least *some* access, even if you throttle it. OTOH, I’m way more interested in using Publer for the Pachyderm, IYKWIM… ❤️
For entrepreneurs, creative directors, investors… I'm hosting my 4th Annual "DRAM" mastermind retreat on Feb 1st at CanyonRanch Lenox. We will deep-dive into technology's relationship with politics, truth, media, communication, intelligence, and financial assets. DM for details!
