Here's a wonderful portrait of a man named Eulalio in San Antonio back in 1907. He is awesome-looking, isn't he? Even better is the note that Eulalio wrote on the back:
A natural English translation would be:
"Rosita, this is worth nothing as a way of showing you my affection, but keep it as a remembrance from your sincere friend, Eulalio."
More colloquially:
"Rosita, this little thing is hardly enough to show you how much I care, but keep it as a memento from your sincere friend, Eulalio."

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day: Today is, of course, Cinco de Mayo. The hero of that day, General Ignacio Zaragoza, was a Texan, having been born in Goliad, Texas. His mother was a relative of Juan Seguín. It was Zaragoza who led the Mexicans to victory over a larger, more accomplished French force at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
Solamente pudieron acabarlo a traición…

Sometimes the most impactful statement you can make is a strong resignation. It's unfortunate it's come down to this. God's speed @joekent16jan19 I hope this wakes some people up.
Honored to be sworn in to the TCAD Board of Directors. Appraisals impact families, neighborhoods, and small businesses—and fairness and transparency matter. Grateful for my City Council colleagues and staff for their support. Ready to serve and do the work.
I used to be entrenched in the left/right paradigm. The minute I stepped out of it, I realized how brainwashed both sides are.
Many people are finally starting to see the bigger picture.
A new year is a good reminder that progress doesn’t come from noise — it comes from listening, collaboration, and steady work.
Looking forward to continuing to serve, learn, and help build a stronger Manor and region in 2026. Happy New Year. 🤍
