@MarioNawfal So let’s play through this logic: if this war is an endless drain on resources, does that mean Russia has more resources than all western countries combined? Why do we imagine resources are only limited on our side? Shouldn’t Russia’s power be massively depleted by now?
@NASA I still remember my first time on a ship at sea and sailing out of sight of land - a mix of fear, awe, wonder. I can’t imagine the feeling of losing sight of the earth in space…what a humbling experience that would be!
@MarioNawfal Also, you need to consider that most commentators are becoming prisoners of their audiences and engagement metrics - the echo chambers are coming from a “shorthand” that emerges both on the right/left. If you can’t speak truth to your “team”….you’re in an echo chamber.
@MarioNawfal …also, with the twitter files, you are in dangerous waters - everyone involved is pushing an agenda/narrative. Think deeply about the fact that your access is contingent on sticking to the narrative @elonmusk is pushing for his own purposes…do you 100% know his motives?
@MarioNawfal I did post a critique the other day on one of your posts…and then saw that you had hit like on it. Made me think you are really trying on this, which I respect very much. I have all the time in the world for people willing to take constructive criticism.
@jenlalonde@CIBCInnovation The real innovation would be to not deliberately destroy the environment. The underwriters of that loan would have had to know that was protected land when they approved it.
@N8VSmoklahoman@MarioNawfal Evil, criminality, public service, justice, threats to the public - the definitions to all these are subjective, moving, contextual. There’s a reason why we’ve been debating all of those for the entire history of our civilization. They all require dialogue, debate, adjudication.
Political polarization is a reinforcing loop: the more everyone plays for their team, the more everyone has to justify bad behavior from those “on their side”. Everyone gets pulled to the extremes, and all nuance and common ground goes out the window. Rinse and repeat.
Everyone likes to sound good on stage, but there’s lots of money to be made doing the wrong thing. @EdelmanPR has likewise been caught out on #astroturfing climate issues, despite promises. Article here

This is part of a pattern of the growing gap between what global CEOs say in public declarations vs. what they do in practice, whether on #HumanRights, #ClimateCrisis, or #ethicalbusiness.
This is #twitter now - 20k people are showing up to hear some crypto-bro-Elon-fanboys discuss…#vaccines…as though they are something people need to have a “stance” on.
@ggreenwald One of the least self-aware tweets I’ve seen lately. Want an example of the mindless binary thinking the tweet is droning about? Just re-read the tweet.
