@RossGrooters@bmore_sports8@LASIKdotcom@LoveGators4ever That's the thing about judgement calls, right? What one person deems acceptable, another may not. I don't see it as an evolution, nor do I see it as toying with the game's integrity. If anything plays like this will be viewed under much more scrutiny if/when they occur.
@RossGrooters@bmore_sports8@LASIKdotcom@LoveGators4ever You highlighted the wrong part. 'As long as the umpire determines that a play is being made on the runner and an attempt to tag is occurring' is key here.
Obviously, in the umpire's (non-reviewable) judgement that was not a valid tag attempt ... and therefore valid baserunning.
@bmore_sports8@LASIKdotcom@LoveGators4ever I mean, the umpire said it best himself:
“Clement had the right to establish his basepath to avoid the fielder from potential interference. Even though Henderson reached out for a tag, Clement’s basepath was already established so therefore, it was not out of the baseline.”
That sad day when you’re in 🇨🇦 and run out of the Strawberry/Champagne preserve which can only be purchased @Fortnums in London 🇬🇧.
My toast will be so boring now. Sigh. 😔
@GOtransit Dropped an out of town friend at Oakville for the 12:05am (last) train to Union as seen on the website & station boards. Also asked a staff member at the station to confirm time & track. Train never showed & was removed from the board without notice! Any details?
@JaymeKnyx During unprecedented times when we were all trying to find our way together, these actions only served to divide. Perhaps the most ill-conceived and selfish ‘movement’ in the history of this great land.
@EricLDaugh Always hilarious to me that (of course) Americans think this is an original American holiday. In fact, Thanksgiving was first celebrated in what would become Canada (1578) over 40yrs before it was celebrated in what would become the USA (1621).
@JomboyMedia 1. I was there
2. I’ve played ball for 47 years
3. It was absolutely the correct call on the lodged ball, as the fielder made no attempt to dislodge it before raising hands
4. Barger was absolutely out
Anyone thinking that this is rigged needs to grow up.

@citchmook Canadian here (1 hour from Buffalo)
The Sabres have been doing this as long as I can remember. I’ve been to Detroit & they do not. Haven’t been to Seattle, so can’t say for sure. As border towns go, they may be the only one.
@KutterIsKing I’m anything but a Yankees fan, but this is absolutely NOT cheating. If Chapman (or any pitcher) does not do a good job at concealing their grip in the glove, it can most certainly be deciphered and communicated by the runners or coaches to the batter.
@cityburlington As a past Chair of the Burlington’s Best Awards committee (formerly the Civic Recognition Awards), it’s tremendously disheartening to see that the committee has been dissolved in favour of semi-annual acknowledgement at City Hall.
Hey @MLB, I’m pretty sure there’s a Canadian team in the league … yet no flag present in the color guard (let alone no anthem)?
The disrespect - though not surprising - is palpable.
#HomeRunDerby
@YESNetwork@NancyNewmanYES@RealMichaelKay As a Jays fan, I understood the intent w the run diff idea. No worries there.
Tossing a broom after a sweep has been the tradition on Jays broadcasts for the last 20+yrs ... it wasn't created to belittle NYY
(PS - they just did it again an hour ago when the Jays swept LAA)
