RAGHAV CHADHA:
"Suppose a doctor prescribes an MRI that costs a total of ₹9,000. ₹3,000 will go directly into the pockets of doctors who refer patients to the diagnostic centre."
"It's a silent transaction that isn't about your treatment. It's about who referred you."
"There is a cut-money arrangement between some doctors and diagnostic centres."
"Some doctors get irritated or upset when a patient refuses to go to a particular diagnostic centre."
"The practice of subjecting patients to unnecessary tests and cut-money arrangements should end."
Three of the four Indian weightlifters, who tested positive for prohibited substances ahead of the CWG in Glasgow, have accepted their doping bans ranging from 3 to 4 years @timesofindia@toisports@YASMinistry@Media_SAI

Even worse: the fund itself is shrinking fast 📉
NSDF contributions fell from:
• Rs 85.26 crore (2023-24)
➡️ Rs 37.02 crore (2025-26)
That’s a collapse of over 56% in just 3 years.
Sanjana Chaudhary is currently leading the women’s javelin throw at the Indian Open Throws in Patiala.
She threw 54.20m on her very first attempt. Her personal best is 56.59m, achieved in 2022.
Rising stars of Indian women’s javelin, Deepika and Jyoti, are currently behind her.
With the last three throws remaining, can they make a comeback?

@nnis_sports@IndiaSports We can't build a high altitude Centre after all these years, no proper gym, no cross-country training course, no racewalk training facility, many more. In about 70 years what did we build if we have to.depend every year on Colorado Springs.or St. Moritz?
Why Ekadashi is the most powerful fasting day?
Ekadashi was not chosen randomly. It falls on the 11th day after the full and new moon a time when lunar gravity causes the highest fluid shifts inside the human body. Because our body is ~60% water, these shifts influence blood volume, lymph flow, brain chemistry, and hormonal balance.
During these lunar peaks, the gut and nervous system are more sensitive. Digestion becomes weaker and inflammation rises. Ancient physicians noticed that heavy meals on these days caused bloating, joint pain, brain fog, and fatigue. So they advised rest from food.
Fasting on Ekadashi reduces blood flow to the gut and lowers insulin. This allows the body to switch into fat-burning and cellular repair mode. Modern science calls this autophagy the same process that wins Nobel Prizes today.
That is also why grains were avoided on Ekadashi. Grains spike insulin, increase gut fermentation, and raise inflammation exactly when the body is least equipped to handle it. Fruits, nuts, milk, or complete fasting were allowed because they keep glucose and insulin stable.
Two Ekadashi fasts per month create 24 metabolic reset days per year. That is enough to improve insulin sensitivity, reduce fatty liver, lower triglycerides, and prevent diabetes and obesity without any extreme dieting.
Ekadashi is not a religious ritual.
It is lunar-synchronised metabolic maintenance.
Ancient India encoded biology into tradition.
What is an aspiration or an achievement worth if it's end goal is to make the other feel inferior and meek. What we are and can be: Wishlist for India - my column in @thetribunechd https://t.co/PH7PxfL2xY
